ALOR SETAR: Receiving the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) is nothing to shout about, says Mokhzani Mahathir, the second son of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said although the government revelled in the fact that it was helping the people by disbursing the aid, the people forget that they are receiving money because they cannot afford to fend for themselves.
“We can be proud and be like champions when we are rich. We can feel great with our own hard-earned money.
“That is what’s important. It is not about people giving us money so we can survive. That is not greatness.
“We can feel proud when we are able to ensure our livelihood is taken care of, and we can take care of our own families,” he said in a ceramah at Felda Sungai Tiang in Pendang, near here, where he made a surprise appearance last night.

Wakakaka, so says the multi-billionaire. I have to say I admire him fr his immense wealth. I wonder whether he could pass on a couple of tips on how to get rich, apart from having a powerful relative, wakakaka again.
Also in FMT - You’re rich and arrogant, Samy’s son attacks Mahathir’s son (extracts):
PETALING JAYA: MIC treasurer-general S Vell Paari today described Mokhzani Mahathir as “arrogant” for saying the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) was nothing to shout about and that Malaysians could only be proud when they were rich.
Calling on Mokhzani to apologise to all BR1M recipients “as they do not deserve to be disrespected and ridiculed”, he said it also showed that Mokhzani had lost touch with the common people.
“Everyone in Malaysia knows how Mokhzani Mahathir made his billions. In fact Anwar Ibrahim once said that Mokhzani’s Kenchana Petroleum received most of the projects from Petronas. Dr Mahathir was also once the adviser of Petronas.”
Vell Paari, the son of Mahathir’s former cabinet minster S Samy Vellu, said in a statement that Mokhzani should stop “looking down” upon and disrespecting people who received BR1M.
“Not everyone in Malaysia is the son of a former prime minister of 22 years and who is now a multi-billionaire. There are people in this country who work to find a living honestly and do need assistance from time to time. The government is aware of this and (is) providing assistance to the rakyat accordingly. The amount of assistance might be nothing to Mokhzani but means a lot to the people who are really in need.”
He asked Mokhzani why Pakatan Harapan in its manifesto had not committed itself to abolishing BR1M?
“The reason is simple because PH knows that BR1M is a very good initiative by the BN government.”

Yes indeed, if BR1M was useless, why has Mahathir after initially rejecting the aid subsidy now wants Pakatan Harapan to continue its scheme? FMT has just reported that Lim Kit Siang has upped the BR1M ante, promising to give recipients RM2,000 if Pakatan wins majority rule.
But to be challenged upon by a bloke like Vell Paari really makes Mokhzani a sad clown.
Mokhzani has been totally out of touch with the ordinary rakyat, and in his multi-billionaire arrogant opinion, has in one fell swoop shot his father's, brother's and his own foot, wakakaka.
We have to admit Mokhzani has been the wonderful beneficiary of karma, being born to a powerful father. Does anyone for an instant believe he would have become a multi-billionaire if his dad was not Robert Kuok or "Robert Mugabe", wakakaka?
But don't be jealous - it's just Mokhzani's magnificent marvellous karma.
I am only interested in najib.
ReplyDeleteI begin to wonder if kaytee is indeed najib. Or najib love child who wanna come home. Like eric trump to donald trump
"1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) was nothing to shout about and that Malaysians could only be proud when they were rich."
ReplyDeletesimple english right? which part u n that mic dick dun understand?
Why only those who are rich can be proud? Orang miskin dan dhaif cannot? Allah does not teach you that.
DeleteThen WHY r u so proud of the lopsided nep that u have been continuously leeching on?
DeleteWhat's the aim of nep if it's NOT to raise the living standard of the Melayu?
Why want to raise that me-layu attitude meme-ed deep into their gene if NOT to make them proud of themselves?
Hence, deep within that bastardized nep is that twisted theme of be rich (by any means) then be proud!
Kalau orang miskin dan dhaif (kaum tongkat) bermaruah tinggi, jangan bagi ikan. Bagi jaring ikan lah!
Perhaps, yr Allah does not teach you that!
1.one would feel proud if him n most of his fellow citizens dun need govt handout, while still live a reasonably good life.
Delete2.orang miskin yg hidup without handout can of course feel proud.
3. i live on handout n feel proud abt it.
allah prefer the third one?
Unknown.....allah says if steal money must cut off your dick
DeleteThere was no need for BR1M in the 1990s. Solid jobs with living wages were available.
ReplyDeleteBR1M is a symptom of economic stagnation, and do not represent any solution, just a band aid.
My Grab driver yesterday made it very clear he understood the issue. BR1M comes from Wang Rakyat. Receiving it does not entail any gratitude or obligation to thank Najib or Barisan Nasional.
While naturally BR1M comes from wang rakyat, did you make it a point to ask that GRAB driver does he wish that BR1M money he received be used instead to bail out more of Mahathir's legacy such as MAS (2nd time) or Proton (2nd time) or Perwaja Steel or Mega Steel (umpteen times) or Mokhzani's Sapura (Billions losses there) or Ananda Krishnan's failed Airtel venture (more Billions gone) and so many many others?
DeleteDare to do that and see if that GRAB driver's point of view about BR1M changes. Incidentally, Mokhzani dissed BR1M recipients yesterday.
Back in the 90's our debt to GDP ratio was at 103% as compared to 53% now. We didn't feel the negative effects of pumping in more money via raising debts back then because our economy wasn't so interlinked to the world. If we repeat that trick again, you may have lotsa money in your hands but the inflation rate will kill whatever you have. Furthermore, our once major source of income, our black gold, is no longer a boon but a bane as we effective have became a nett oil importer.
Wakakakakaka……
ReplyDeleteIn yr last minute rush for the kpi, having u forget that IT'S just umno's magnificent marvellous karma?
Don't be selective lah!
Kill the proverbial pink elephant that people like u refuse to see & keep letting it runs wild in the china (punchline intended) shop.
Agree?
Kaytee is the actual chicken little
DeleteThe fucking sky is falling. The fucking sky is failing
I got a solution. Kaytee should cut off hia dick so that his descendent wont live in despair under next govt
Question should ask, who was Mokhzani & his brothers before daddy-kasi? So when they're rich now, they look down on those who are still poor.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame on leaders and not on recipients and nothing to be proud off when the number of BR1M recepients keep incresing yearly even though the amount of RM is increased.
ReplyDeleteAll the recipients know they would rather be proud citizens not to have to receive BR1M if only they could have their incomes raised and not be dependent on it.
It's like not having to be dependent on your children to give you a monthly stipends to go on living, if only we have enough to live by comfortably.
And I'm not talking about being rich or behaviour of rich people. That's for those who are too comfortable already and not knowing about the poor and destitude.
It will take some time to get people out of this BR1M handouts and be dependent on it and that sure needs a damn good Govt to rule the country.
Proud people?
ReplyDeleteSometimes in 2016, the vast majority of Swiss voters rejected a referendum that would have provided every citizen a guaranteed income of $2,500 Swiss francs ($2,520) after tax, regardless of their employment status or wealth.
All told, about 77% of Swiss voters were against the measure, which lost by at least 10 percentage points in all of the country's 26 districts.
The plan would have allowed those earning less than the minimum to have their pay topped up. Those out of work would have been handed the full amount. The income would have been unconditional and untaxed, and it would have replaced various welfare payments.
Against BR1M's backdrop, ain't M'sians a proud 'lot'! Wakakakaka……sigh…… perhaps maruah has special addendum in its definition.
This has nothing to do with the sopo & affluent of the country.
It's all in the attitude of the people!
So, why the difference?
Look no further than PD.
