Mahathir & CJ Raus - What was discussed?

Star Online - Separation of powers: Dr M should not have had one-on-one with CJ, says lawyer (extracts):

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad should not have had a one-on-one meeting with Chief Justice Tun Md Raus Sharif, says senior lawyer Roger Tan.

“This should not have happened if we respect the doctrine of the separation of powers strictly,” said Tan in a post on his Facebook page on Monday (May 21).

He said that Md Raus should have declined the invitation to the meeting that took place last Tuesday.

Kay-poh's would sure like to know what they discussed?

I'm sure we are all bursting with curiosity.

  1. Old Mahathir : "I want to make very sure you understand that Najib must be found GUILTY. "

New Mahathir : "I want to make very sure you understand that there must be no more political considerations in Court rulings. They must be based on law and evidence".

Which Mahathir Old or New appeared in the meeting ?

  4. Yes, yes, agree, but MCA-man Roger Tan was completely silent about the then Prime Minister meeting the future complainant against Anwar Ibrahim BEFORE he lodged the police report.

This should not have happened if we respect the doctrine of the separation of powers strictly, eh , Roger Tan ?

  5. CJ wanted to discuss the same things as Sarawak Governor Taib Mahmud when he urgently sought a meeting with TDM last week: the SCORE for this weekend’s Champions League final, the benefits of Berocca vitamins and best Canadian property investments, especially in Ottawa.

  7. Najib cannot be charged for crimes as public servant until law is changed: Do you really seriously support that CJ Raus?

  8. So, Tokong and Ahjibkor are saved by the Federal Court ruling politicians are not public servants?

I bet TDM just told the CJ to go unravel that stupid judgement?

Does it means all politicians cannot be charged for abusing their powers when holding posts in Govt? What about GLCs, GLICs, Institutions, agencies etc?

Any precedent from overseas or is Malaysia Boleh the only one?

    1. If Najib can be charged, then so as LGE. And if LGE is charged, then... heh heh... who gets to be Finance Minister? Perhaps someone who had previous experience as FM. So its either Daim or Mahathir will "sacrifice" himself to take on the FM post. Its only "temporary" after all, right? So what's the problem, says the zombies.

    2. So you are very sure lge is guilty? Can you make a full page statement in the press with your full name? Dont be a pig. Be a man. Have cojones

    3. About as guilty as Najib is guilty of his crimes. So you make your own conclusions.

    4. If charging LGE can be politically motivated, then dropping charges can also be politically motivated.

If LGE can clear his name for defamation in court, then he can clear his name for corruption in court.

But here's the problem, if he loses, under the old regime, he can claim political interference. Now, no such excuse!!

And DAP supporters know in their hearts, guilty or not, there is enough sleaze to stop taking him seriously when he preaches anti-corruption.

  9. All cases brought to court by Apandi when he was AG should be dropped, including the one against LGE. His judge and jury clearance of Najib and refusal to file charges against him on the SRC and 1MDB cases alone clearly shows he is biased. Hopefully documents now being unearthed in Putrajaya / AGC will show that.

    1. Why? If the case is weak or in bad faith, then the courts will acquit and the AG censured. The new AG dropping the case is another round of AG being judge and jury.

    2. So you must be judge dredd. Or the judges during book of judge....or samson? Go go pull down the pillars and bury yourself

  10. Apandi was judge and jury for SRC/1MDB case. Public Prosecutor for LGE's case. Prosecutor can always withdraw the charge. That's why we need to remove prosecution power from AG and have a separate PP. Now with Shukri's mind-blowing revelation today it is clear Gani Patail was sacked and Apandi appointed for one reason only, to protect PM. LGE's court case was used by AG as blackmail to stop DAP cooperation with TDM. All dots connecting now.
