Emulate Najib and admit to SOP breach, Puad tells PAS leaders
A UMNO leader urged Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to just admit to his wrongdoings and pay the fine for breaching COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).
“The menteri besar need not give excuses. Sanusi may not be test driving on the day but car showrooms and test driving are barred during lockdown.
“Emulate former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He admitted to not scanning his temperature when he entered a chicken rice shop.
“Najib went to the police station himself and paid the fine. Why is it so difficult for these leaders to emulate such an example set by a former prime minister?” asked supreme council member Datuk Puad Zarkashi, in a Facebook post.

Datuk Puad Zarkashi’s Facebook post
Last week, photos went viral allegedly showing Sanusi visiting a Ford showroom at the Juru auto station, where he was alleged to have test driven a vehicle.
His aides had since dismissed the claims saying Sanusi was just visiting the place. Free Malaysia Today yesterday published a report saying the lady who made the photos viral, Nini Siron, had since been received hate messages from various quarters accusing her of slander.
Leadership by example
However, she defended the post saying Sanusi was there at the car showroom, which was not supposed to be open during lockdown.
On that note, Puad also mocked Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Khairuddin Aman Razali for alleged breach of SOP but denied it vehemently.
“The minister denied he was questioned by the police during an operation in Terengganu. The problem is, soon after his denial, the Terengganu police chief confirmed the matter and said the case is being investigated by Bukit Aman.
“In fact, no one has questioned our Prime Minister, who was photographed entering Hotel Zenith on March 31 without wearing a face mask,” the former deputy minister stated.
Puad said that Government leaders should not think the people would easily forget their transgressions, adding keeping mum and issuing denials would no longer work.
“Remember that Islam is about showing good example, not used to defend one’s hypocrisy,” he remarked- June 8, 2021.

Published 28 Apr 2018
UPDATED 1.19PM | GE14 | PKR vice-president Tian Chua has been disqualified from contesting in the parliamentary seat of Batu for the 14th general election.
Returning officer Anwar Mohd Zain made the decision based on a March 2 Shah Alam High Court ruling which fined Tian Chua RM2,000 for insulting the modesty of a police officer.
The decision was at odds with the 13th general election when the returning officer then allowed Tian Chua to contest in Batu despite a separate conviction where Tian Chua was also fined RM2,000.
