No total ban: Deputy minister clarifies that retailers can sell alcohol

UPDATED 10.58PM | Included a clarification by deputy minister Rosol Wahid on alcohol sale restrictions.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Rosol Wahid has come forth to correct his earlier statement about a blanket ban on alcohol sales during the total lockdown period.

In a statement tonight, he clarified that the restriction was limited to liquor manufacturers and liquor stores.

Convenience stores, mini markets and supermarkets are allowed to sell alcoholic beverages provided they have a valid licence.

  1. So now we have Senior Defence Minister, Senior MITI Minister and a kichilek Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, all Malay-Muslims, each announcing a different view about alcohol. Wee KHAT Siong belum buka mulut lagi.

    Meanwhile Chinese Traditional Medicine Shops are not allowed to open. But cigarettes available everywhere, as is all kinds of Junk Food. Ginseng tak boleh tapi tobacco dan gula gula boleh.

  2. KL Police had already ordered Bangsar TMC Supermarket's alcohol section to be shut down, under the threat of shutting their entire store, so this Deputy Minister Tak Boleh Pakai.
