PAS' Khairuddin claims certain Umno leaders targeting him
Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Khairuddin Aman Razali has alleged that he is a target by certain Umno leaders.
This was after he came under attack over the Malaysian Rubber Board’s (MRB) plan to lease its lands purportedly at below market price.
MRB had confirmed that it had received offers for two plots of land located along Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur.
However, it said no deal had been struck yet.
Khairuddin’s predecessor Teresa Kok had questioned the deal, pointing out that she had imposed a moratorium on any sale of MRB assets so that the agency could focus on its core purpose which was rubber research.
Khairuddin attributed the allegations surrounding the MRB issue to pro-Umno Facebook pages.
“The Facebook pages defaming me in the MRB issue are friendly to certain Umno leaders.
“Certain Umno leaders have also spiritedly launched attacks,” he said in a Facebook post.
However, Khairuddin who is also PAS’ Kuala Nerus MP, said such attacks wouldn't hurt his overall cordial relationship with Umno.
“It won’t stop me from continuing to strengthen Muafakat Nasional in the interest of the ummah.
“The good relations with Umno leaders also won’t be affected,” he added.
Muafakat Nasional is a pact between Umno and PAS.
Relations between the two became strained after PAS joined Perikatan Nasional led by Bersatu, Umno’s splinter party.
