From FMT:
Annuar slams Kit Siang for disrespect of the law in 1MDB case
PETALING JAYA: Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa took DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang to task today for failing to understand and disrespecting the process of law in the asset forfeiture case involving Umno and alleged 1MDB funds.
In a running exchange of words between the two leaders, Annuar accused Lim of being “illiterate” about civil forfeiture when Lim stated that Annuar had tacitly admitted that Umno had accepted funds from 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission has filed suits against Umno and various leaders, alleging that they had received illicit funds from 1MDB, which is at the centre of money laundering and corruption investigations.
In a statement today, Annuar said Lim was hung up on the 1MDB issue “which he has created himself” and had proceeded to pass judgement on Umno’s involvement even though the matter was still before the courts.
“Does Lim not understand that the civil forfeiture action is a petition by MACC which must be heard by the court, and in which various parties who have a claim to the assets have an opportunity to prove that the assets were not the proceeds of illegal activity?” said Annuar.
“I say again, the money in Umno Malaysia’s accounts frozen by MACC was not illicit funds and had nothing to do with 1MDB. They were from lawful activities which we will prove in court.”
He said the MACC action had frozen hundreds of accounts of those who received money from (former Umno president and former prime minister) Najib Razak in the form of donations and sponsorship. The status of Najib’s account had not yet been decided by the courts, and Umno had no knowledge about Najib’s accounts as they were not handled by the party, Annuar said.
"the money in Umno Malaysia’s accounts frozen by MACC was not illicit funds and had nothing to do with 1MDB" - that is just Annuar's opinion, just as Lim Kit Siang has a right to his opinion.
ReplyDeleteThe court will make the determination.
irrelevant dad plus a stupid son.
ReplyDeleteOrang putih bukan Islam tak payah tunggu tunggu kes mahkamah, dengan segera bagi balik aset 1MDB. Leonardo di Caprio, Miranda Kerr dll. Orang kulit coklat agama Islam lain pulak, tak malu.

ReplyDeleteUMNO Secretary-General now quoting "Rule of Law" when everyone's perception of the 1MDB scandal has changed with the disclosures by DOJ, US, criminal charges against 1MDB players in several countries and impending criminal charges on 1 MDB coming up in August 2019.
He must have also forgotten that the current Govt. is no more the BN regime where any issues on 1MDB scandal were not even allowed to be debated in Parliament and where anyone doing their job of investigation
the 1 MDB scandal were suddenly sacked, posted elsewhere or threatened.
The best Quote is still from the previous Agong "Sila Duduk, Jangan Lari".
Don't those in UMNO realise it's a matter of time before all is exposed and no amount of politiking can prevent it unless they are also able to erase all those convictions and investigations by foreign Govts?
It's such a lousy bet on this ballgame to believe miracles can happen when UMNO is trailing way behind and the final whistle is going to be blown.

Using this logic Jho Low should have quickly spent all the stolen 1MDB money, then he can say:
