Teng Chang Khim resigned due to fatigue from intra party fighting

My Sin Chew:

TOO TIRED: TENG EXPLAINS WHY HE QUITS POLITICS

SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 (Sin Chew Daily):

In an exclusive interview with Sin Chew Daily, Teng Chang Khim explained why he decided to quit politics completely.

"There wasn't much I could do in the party" he lamented.

He said he had always played the role of "opposition" within the party, and from the beginning till the end, his was the only opposition voice in the party.

"I felt tired of all this! Really tired."

He said DAP had failed to implement a total reform, and party members had laid all their hopes on him alone, but that was not right.

"I was tired having to do this all alone. No one in the party said 'no' and I was always the one who objected."

"You could get tired after sometime!"

Teng, who has been vocal against the party and some of its leaders decisions, admitted DAP has done little to "reform", a slogan the party had chanted for years.

As for whether a total reform is possible, Teng said the key lies with Lim Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng.

of DAP Malaysia, not North Korea

  1. Teng Chang Kim has been part of the "Out" Team for years.
The "In" and "Out' team is one of the key weaknesses of DAP, and could be its eventual downfall.

  2. He has resigned? So DAP Selangor lost one assemblyman? Don't bluff.

Teng has had enough of state level politics. He wants to be moved up. He deserves it. Then he can reform the party like he wishes.

He is still relatively young. Come GE15 Teng will be given a federal seat in Selangor. Safe Bet. He won 90% of votes in Klang area.

And DAP will probably contest in more seats than in GE14, considering Bersatu is out of Harapan.

  3. Cannot compare Lims with Kims. Lims are elected every time by party members. The Kims' opponents disappear.

  4. in an authoritarian party or state like dap n ccp, one can only revolt, not reform.
