KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — Malaysia is not keen for Dr Zakir Naik to be here, but is hard-pressed to deport him elsewhere as “many countries” will not accept the controversial Islamic preacher either, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said.

The prime minister added that Malaysia is not in favour of hate speech, but indicated that the government is also committed to the rule of law and a fair trial for anyone, even non-citizens.

“We have a multi-racial, multi-religious population in Malaysia. We don’t want anybody who comes up and address extreme views about race and other religions.

“So to that extent, we cannot have him. But on the other hand, it is difficult to send him anywhere else because many countries don’t want to have him,” Dr Mahathir told host Imran Garda of the Turkish news channel TRT World in an interview aired on Monday.

Mahathir has kerbau-ed to say no country really wants Dr Zakir Naik.

The Mamak preacher is a citizen of Saudi Arabia so WTF is Mahathir tokking-kok? Pack the preacher back to Saudi. Let Saudi deal with India.

Why is Malaysia a sanctuary to an inflammatory religious preacher which even Bangladesh, a right-wing Islamic country, does NOT want? Doesn't that show Bangladesh, an Islamic nation, views Zakir Naik as an incendiary agent provocateur to be banned from entering the mamak nation?

Our own Mamak tok-kok especially more so after deporting Praphan Pipithnamporn to Thailand, whose authorities wanted her for alleged anti-monarchy views. The deportation was against UN recommendations.

Human Rights Watch said Praphan Pipithnamporn was then an asylum-seeker registered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and now faces an unfair trial in Thailand, which has some of the world’s toughest lese-majeste laws.

If Mahathir has been so callous, cruel and cold-hearted as to send Praphan Pipithnamporn to face an indisputable unfair trial in Thailand, what effing kok-kok-kai (ayam) has he been tokking about Zakir Naik not getting a fair trial in India?

And he has the brazen bold bullshitting face to say his action has been like that of Australia's refusal to extradite Sirul Azhar Umar. 

All of us, everyone, knows that Australia's decision has been based on humanitarian compassion, not to extradite someone-anyone to a country if the extraditee faces state execution.

India only wants to put Zakir Naik on charge and trial, not to execute him. And for all intents and purpose, Zakir Naik may even be found innocent.

We know Mahathir is not a religious fanatic but he plays continuously to not only racial but also religious politics, thinking the Muslim Heartland will support him at the polls if he pampers to their religious preference for Zakir Naik. Now this is Deep State, not some 'unknown' entity that provides kerbau excuse for Pakatan failing to fulfil its manifesto pledges.
