KLUANG, Aug 2 — Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein of Umno today brushed aside as nothing unusual a recent meeting he and several other Opposition MPs had with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said the meeting was important because it considered the future of the country and people, particularly the efforts to strengthen the economy and unity.
“There is nothing wrong in the political Opposition meeting with government leaders. As such, refrain from sensationalising the issue as it will only generate speculation,” he said.
He spoke to reporters who had approached him at the Sembrong Umno Division Women, Youth and Puteri delegates meeting which was opened by Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
Hishammuddin, who is the Sembrong Umno Division chief, said he believes that any meeting that he attends is for the good of the country and the people and, if that is the position, no one can deny their desire to take the country forward.
Dr Mahathir, who is also the chairman of the ruling Pakatan Harapan, confirmed yesterday that several Opposition leaders, from Umno, PAS and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), met him last Tuesday. — Bernama
Why is Hisham so defensive over and for the activities of a Pakatan PM?
Of course I forgot - Hisham is also worried about being associated with a sinister secret meeting with Mahathir to which only a PKR minister was also present (but notably not Anwar Ibrahim, Wan Azizah, Mat Sabu, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng).
On top of which Nazri Aziz has just said, Hisham is not authorised to speak on behalf of UMNO, wakakaka.
We also know how kamcheng Hisham is with a "certain" PKR minister.

Looks more like horse trading going on by GPS MPs to demand higher offer of Dedak, save Pek Moh and cronies or save themselves from impending MACC corruption charges.
And UMNO and PAS warlords continuing their game of gaining power thru the backdoor to save themselves and continuing their trouble making to prevent a smooth and running Govt. on governance and reforms expected by most Malaysians.
AA will leave PKR sooner or later and it will be a big surprise if he has even 5 MPs on his side after jumping ship.
As mentioned before there are just too many Mat Jenins/dreamers among the UMNO-PAS warlords and TDM must be smiling and laughing everyday how his arch foes has now turned to become his arch supporters to be the PM forever. Can anyone still remember how TDM was chastised and humiliated before GE 14? Wakakakakakakakakaka.
How does this political Maestro does it, could well be something even other countries's leaders worldwide should take a lesson from.
If DSAI, LKS, Mat Sabu, Shafie etc are all quiet, it surely shows they somehow know TDM is weaving his Machiavellian art of politics with the stated objective of consolidating power for his party PPBM which is seen as all fair play in politics so long as the PH coalition remains intact with the numbers they have.
In the meantime, as things unfold slowly, the PH coalition and it's parties are slowly weeding out within themselves all the useless and power hungry warlords and possible Trojan Horses which can only make the PH coalition stronger after this debacle and political jostling. It's all called House Cleaning in simple terms.
