BANGKOK: Thailand announced Wednesday that King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s long-time consort had become his fourth wife, bestowed with the title Queen Suthida — a surprise move just days before his coronation.
The Royal Gazette published an announcement saying Suthida Vajiralongkorn na Ayudhya, a former flight attendant, had “legally married” the king in accordance with royal traditions.

“Therefore, he bestows (the title) on General Suthida Vajiralongkorn na Ayudhya from Queen Consort to Queen Suthida as of now,“ the announcement said.
The ceremony was overseen by Vajiralongkorn wearing a white uniform in Bangkok’s Dusit Palace Wednesday, according to a broadcast of the announcement, which showed Queen Suthida in a traditional Thai silk dress.

I wonder whether the King of Thailand (King Rama X) is really happy with his life and freedom?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say nor comment about the Queen lest I be accused of being a Male chauvinist by women.
And that goes too, to all the Royalties and their families in Malaysia.
When still young, there will always be those streaks of rebel inside and seeking freedom to live the type of life they want instead of being dictated/bound daily by society/royal households as to how they should behave, dress, look, eat, drink, marry, socialize, talk etc etc
It's only when Rulers become older that they become wiser and more willing to give up their personal freedom to serve society and Nation.
The newly minted Queen is likely to be in a precarious position due to the new King's long history of erratic, even bizzare personal behaviour.
ReplyDeleteHis 3 previous wives were ill-treated during their marriage, and all ended up badly.
Add to that his tendency towards multiple adventures outside marriage, his Queen will have little choice but to close both her eyes and just think of Thailand.
