Lim Guan Eng shows his OBEDIENCE to Mahathir

Further to my post Mahathir delays power-transition with excuses after excuses, where I mentioned Mahathir has (initially) used APEC as an excuse to extend his PM tenure to beyond November 2019, when there can be anyone to be PM during APEC and not just Big-Headed Mahathir.

Besides, he was an APEC 'Recalcitrant', a nick given to him by former Aussie PM Paul Keating (who has a sarcastic sharp caustic mouth) in 1993 because Mahathir had defiantly avoided that forum in Seattle, USA.

Then Keating was reported by Australia's Lowy Institute as follows:

Keating: 'Please don't ask me any more questions about Dr Mahathir. I couldn't care less, frankly, whether he comes or not.'
Question: Will you see him next year, Prime Minister?
Keating: 'Yes. I'll see him in his own right. Malaysia is a country which Australia has interests with, and which is a neighbour, and I'll see him on those terms. But APEC is bigger than all of us; Australia, the US and Malaysia and Dr Mahathir and any other recalcitrants. I mean, APEC is a very big development in world affairs and, I think, ushers in a period of important cooperation.'

By Keating standards it was the gentlest of swipes. But Dr M had just been hugely outplayed — even outclassed — by the success of the summit he'd boycotted. Australia had a win — and to make matters worse, Suharto had embraced the achievement.

On his flight back to Jakarta from Seattle, Suharto was asked by journalists traveling with him whether Mahathir was likely to attend the 1994 summit to be hosted by Indonesia. Suharto's response was a one-sentence masterpiece: 'I will invite him and I expect that he will come'.

Whatever his anti-APEC language before Seattle, the Malaysian leader could not ignore such a Javanese command from Suharto.

Thus we can say he has been using APEC just as an excuse to delay handing over to Anwar. Lim KHAT Siang was foolish to stake his political career into vowing he will resign from politics if Mahathir does not hand over to Anwar by May 2020.

So will Mr KHAT keep his vow and resign now?

Then to confirm Mahathir's wicked intent, recently when queried in Doha he mentioned going on until 2023 (as reported in MM Online's
Dr M again hints he could stay on beyond 2020
stating:

“What we have settled for is we will still try, but we have moved the accomplishment date to between 2025 and 2030.

“I have promised that I would step down once I have resolved some of the major problems that have been left by the previous government.

So eff APEC 2020 and hello DOHA (for 2023), apart from insulting Anwar Ibrahim at the press conference as was reported in the Sun Daily, as follows:

Asked if Anwar was the best person to succeed him as prime minister and if he would endorse him, Mahathir said he could not guarantee who would be the best person because of past bad experiences.

things Mahathir touched usually turned to sh*t

As I mentioned, Mahathir's mouth, words and lamentable attitude had made a most ungracious, poisonous and hostile remark for an already established Pakatan agreement.

He eff-ing made all sorts of excuses - APEC, Malaysia's problems, Malay Dignity, Malays are slaves in their homeland, etc etc etc - to hang on to the PM post and power forever. I wonder what excuse he will submit to Iblis on that day when each of us will meet on our own individually.

Mahathir convenient forgets or has selective amnesia, that he has been the very person who started the rot in Malaysia since 1981. And today he is still showing trademarks of his Minus Touch - these, apart from his innate hatred of Anwar Ibrahim (and of course TAR, KJ, Najib and Chinese Malaysians in general).

So we have seen how he keeps on making excuses to extend his PM tenure way beyond any agreement, promises or treaties which he had anyway treated with contempt, disdain and dishonour in the past, during his first tenure as PM (1981 - 2003), and also recently as King Capati.

In 1999, Dr Mahathir faced the frightening prospect of losing the election. He turned to the hatred Chinese for help, specially for the support of Chinese guilds and associations. The Chinese in an association called Suqui representing more than 2,000 groups, made a number of appeals which Mahathir agreed to (or pretended to agree to the appeals).

Once he won the general election with the support of the Chinese, he not only denied his promise but also blasted Suqui, accusing the promoters with the communists and Al-Ma’unah extremists.

Even a double headed King Cobra would never be that treacherous and un-"Dignified".

Read my post Remember Mahathir's promise to Suqui, especially Sabahans and Sarawakians. As I predicted, his pre-GE14 promises have been eff-ing worthless.

So here, right in our bloody face, time and time again, he reneged on his promise, yet we have Lim Guan Eng admonishing DAP members, telling them to focus on fulfilling the PH manifesto instead of being distracted by the issue of power transition for the PM post.

Guan Eng was reported saying the issue of power transition from Mahathir to Anwar Ibrahim had been decided as Mahathir said he would hand over the post after Malaysia had hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November 2020.

Well, eff you Guan Eng, you are eff-ing out of date. That 'APEC' promise has now been replaced by his statements in Doha, where he stated specifically he may go on until 2023, and also insulted Anwar in the same process.

'Tuk, told them to shut their gaps

Good boy

Stop your kerbau, Guan Eng, at least have a bit of the "Malay Dignity" that your Tai-Loe has been promoting like a snake-oil salesman. And a couple of even small laam-p'aah for you would be useful.

And have you by any chance abandoned Anwar?

Kit Siang to quit politics if Dr Mahathir doesn’t give PM post to Anwar

    10 May 2019

DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang will quit politics if Dr Mahathir Mohamad fails to hand over the prime minister’s post to Anwar Ibrahim ahead of the 15th general election.

Lim said this was his wager with acting Umno president Mohamad Hasan who recently cast doubt on the agreement that Dr Mahathir would hand over power to Anwar as agreed by all Pakatan Harapan parties.

I’ll quit politics if Dr M does not give PM post to Anwar, Kit Siang tells Tok Mat

    Friday, 10 May 2019

    By Yiswaree Palansamy

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang told Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today that he was willing to bet his political career on Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s pledge that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be the next prime minister.

In a statement today, the Iskandar Puteri MP said that the process will also go on smoothly, without the need to call for fresh elections, and gave Mohamad two days to take up his challenge.

Lim promised to retire from politics, and not contest in the 15th general election, if Mohamad wins the bet.

“At the PBS Sandakan by-election ceramah last night, the Umno acting president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will not keep his promise of passing on the prime minister’s post to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and that he will sooner dissolve Parliament and call for fresh elections instead.

“I have more confidence in (Dr) Mahathir and I am prepared to have a wager with Mohamad that (Dr)Mahathir will honour the Pakatan Harapan commitment to pass the prime minister’s post to Anwar.

“If Mahathir does not pass the Prime Minister’s post to Anwar and instead dissolve Parliament to call for early 15th General Elections, I will retire from politics and will not contest in the 15th General Election,” Lim said.

Lim also challenged Mohamad to do the same, if the former wins the bet.

“Let us give Mohamad two days to decide whether to accept this wager with me,” he added.

Kit Siang's 'quit' dare to Mat Hasan over Dr M handing reins to Anwar

    May 10th, 2019

Veteran DAP politician Lim Kit Siang is “prepared to bet” his future political career against that of Umno acting president Mohamad Hasan.

The politician, who was first elected to parliament 50 years ago this week, is betting that Dr Mahathir Mohamad will honour his word to hand over the premiership to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.

Failing this, the 78-year-old lawmaker said, he will drop out of GE15 and out of politics altogether...

  2. So now the secret's out....Guanee just revealed the three pages of "khat" in the school textbooks....nothing really, until Sin Chew newspaper and Wee KHAT Siong (the deputy Education Minister who introduced Jawi in 2014) suddenly blows it up when Teoh Nie Ching is deputy minister in 2019....

    QUOTE
Guan Eng: If can learn Jawi in three pages, we are geniuses

    15 DEC 2019

The teaching of Jawi script in schools is merely a three-page introduction to the language system, said DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today.

"If we can learn Jawi in three pages, we are geniuses. The lessons are not compulsory and will be decided by parents," added Lim, who is also Finance Minister, at the Penang DAP convention in Prai, Penang.

"If the parents do not want it, it is okay, we will not introduce it," he stressed.

Lim drew similarities with the Oracle, which is the predecessor of Chinese characters.

"Can you master Oracle in three pages? Impossible.

"Going by the same logic, you cannot master Jawi in three pages," he said.

Lim's remarks follow the Education Ministry's denial that it had sidelined the views of schools' board of governors on the use of Jawi in Bahasa Malaysia textbooks in all schools, including vernacular schools.

On Dec 13, Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching said the ministry prioritised the opinion of Parent-Teachers Associations (PTAs) as well as the parents and students themselves before making any decision on the matter.

Lim said parents could exercise the option of whether to allow their kids to study the origins of Bahasa Melayu.

He recalled that MCA, during the previous government, had also raised the issue of Jawi.

In 2014, the BN government had wanted to promote the compulsory teaching of Jawi in schools, said Lim.

He added that after Pakatan Harapan came into power, the subject was changed from compulsory to an elective option.

"For the first time in history, parents can decide. Previously, how can parents decide?" asked the Bagan MP.

"If there is no Parents-Teachers Association, then we will let the school's board of governors decide. This is the cabinet's decision," Lim explained.

Lim also reiterated the introduction of Jawi is not for teaching, learning, writing or for examinations.

"It is merely to introduce Jawi as the predecessor of Bahasa Melayu," he pointed out.

How much did he give Toonsie for the flying car or 3rd National Car? For the crooked bridge?

Now talking about obedience the cake goes to MCA who were obedient and silent over countless scandals, eg to cover up their own PKFZ scandal involving MCA Transport Ministers they were in return silent over Jibby's rape, pillage and plunder og 1MDB and KWAP.

How much has Guanee's "obedience" cost us so far?

COMMENT | The evidence adduced in three high-profile trials over the past three months make interesting reading. The verbal exchanges and documents have given insights into the many facets of political and family lives.

Malaysians have learnt how to placate an angry wife, maintain a fleet of the family’s luxury cars and big bikes; having three wives would mean one would not abscond; bribes in the form of political donations, and money paid quid pro quo for approvals.

More importantly, the course of events that have come to light is a microcosm for how the government was previously run under the BN regime.

“What you don’t know doesn’t hurt” is a common expression, but if May 9 did not happen, no one would have known and no one would have been hurt. Now that the can of worms has been opened (read: a vessel full of maggots), we re-visit the events and size up the misery and hurt that it has caused and continues to cause us...

  7. This is a usual case of making the worst possible interpretation of what Lim Guan Eng.

I actually read the statement as a sensible and level-headed advice to PH members to focus on implementing the PH promises ("Get the Job Done!") and not get distracted by the Power handover polemics.

Most of the power handover shit stirring is actually being done by hostile outside parties who want to cause trouble and conflict in PH, e.g. UMNO and PAS maneuvers kononnya support Mahathir to remain as PM for the full term. Crap.
