PETALING JAYA: A PAS leader congratulated the newly-established Taliban-led government of Afghanistan for “successfully achieving victory” for their country, only to delete his tweet after being scolded by netizens
On Twitter, PAS international affairs and external relations committee chairman Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi said the Taliban had successfully freed their homeland from “the clutches of colonialism”.
While the tweet has been deleted, his original statement can still be found on Harakah Daily.
“The victory and ‘independence’ achieved this time is the result of the efforts of all Afghans in an effort to liberate their homeland which for 20 years has been colonised and invaded without mercy and humanity that almost destroyed Afghanistan,” he said.
Khalil, who is also Batu Buruk assemblyman and son of party president Abdul Hadi Awang said with the victory, he hoped that all stakeholders would work together and reach an agreement to put Afghanistan back on track.
“May the new government of Afghanistan and its people work together to develop the country and achieve prosperity, peace and progress after this based on the sharia and comprehensive Islamic values,” he added.
Human rights activist Michelle Yesudas was among netizens who hit out at Khalil for his remarks, calling for the MP who becomes the interim prime minister to reprimand PAS over the matter.
“Whoever becomes the ninth prime minister, just please reprimand PAS and don’t let them be part of your Cabinet. Your administration will pay for pandering to the Taliban,” she said in a Twitter post.
Twitter user @azmirliberty took a jibe at the PAS leader for deleting his tweets, saying that it was a typical PAS move.
Another netizen, @rafieedruce, expressed little surprise with Khalid’s posting, strongly hitting out at the Islamist party for the statement.
“Of course PAS will celebrate the desecration of women’s rights and the killing of non-cis-hetero people. Disgusting people, and a disgusting political party. Rotten to the core,” he said.

Many Afghans fear the Taliban will return to past harsh practices in their imposition of Sharia, or Islamic law. During their 1996-2001 rule, women were not allowed to work and punishments such as stoning, whipping and hanging were administered.
However, this time around, the Taliban has sought to project a more moderate face, promising to respect women’s rights and protect both foreigners and Afghans.

Be brave like ISIL fighters, Najib tells Umno
24 Jun 2014
BY MELISSA CHI
KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 — Umno must emulate the bravery of a Middle Eastern militant group that defeated an Iraqi force outnumbering it nearly 30 to one if the Malay nationalist party is to survive, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said yesterday.
The Umno president and prime minister was listing virtues that were needed to allow the Malay nationalist party to continue in power, during a dinner to commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Cheras branch yesterday.
“For example, when someone dares to fight to their death, they can even defeat a much bigger team.
“As proof — whether we agree or not is another matter — the group ISIL with the strength of just 1,300 people, can defeat an Iraqi army of 30,000 soldiers, until four, five generals with three, four stars run for their lives, jump out the window at night. Why? Because they are afraid of those who are brave,” he told more than 1,000 Umno members in attendance.
He also stressed the importance of being loyal to god, the party, and friends.
Najib said having wisdom and foresight in battles as well as the ability to organise is also crucial in strengthening the party.
The Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) is a splinter group of al-Qaeda that wants to set up an Islamic caliphate encompassing both Iraq and Syria.
ISIL is viewed as a terror organisation by authorities both here and abroad.

Most Western Countries who have done their best helping Afghanistan for 20 years but now they are closing their Kabul Embassies and will stop development aid because they can't recognize the Taliban.
ReplyDeleteAs the remaining two UN Permanent SECURITY Council Members still in Kabul it is now the responsibility of Russia and Bullyland to provide SECURITY or at the very least aid to these poor Afghans. Otherwise please resign as Permanent UN Security Council Members.

European Countries Halt Development Aid For Afghanistan

European Countries Halt Development Aid For Afghanistan
The German government had agreed to send 430 million euros to Afghanistan a year.
Berlin, Germany: Several European countries announced on Tuesday that they would stop sending development aid to Afghanistan for now, after the Taliban swept back into power in the country.
"State cooperation on development is suspended for the time being," German Development Minister Gerd Mueller said in an interview with the Rheinische Post newspaper.
"We are working at pace to evacuate from Afghanistan those local development officials and NGO workers who want to leave."
The German government had agreed to send 430 million euros ($506 million) to Afghanistan a year, making it one of the biggest donors to the country.
This money was intended to support the training of local police forces and strengthen the justice system, as well as furthering the rights of women and fighting corruption.
Separately, the Finnish government announced it would suspend its development aid to the country, as did Sweden.
"We are suspending all official development aid funding at the moment due to the circumstances in the field," Mikko Autti, advisor to the Finnish development minister, told AFP.
There was "currently no timetable" for reinstating the aid, he added.
On humanitarian assistance, Autti said Finland was "awaiting coordination with our international partners on how to assist Afghan civilians either in Afghanistan or the nearby countries, but so far it's still not certain."
Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said his country would reconsider how best to deploy aid in Afghanistan, but stressed Sweden would "in no way give any aid to the Taliban".
"We are not abandoning the Afghan people," Lofven said in a post to social media.
"But Sweden will need to redirect some of the aid to Afghanistan following the Taliban seizing power."
Speaking last week, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the country was not "viable" without the support of international aid.
Finnish development aid totalled approximately 30 million euros per year, according to the country's foreign ministry.
Sweden meanwhile sent Afghanistan 1 billion Swedish krona ($115 million) in aid in 2020 through the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency

Where r the other three members? Cabut at the first sight of troubles!
Or u have a better better wallflower fart for them?
Wakakakakaka…
"European Countries Halt Development Aid For Afghanistan" & US withholding all Afghanistan reserves within USofA.
These were expected by the Taliban!
Don't forget the Taliban have zilch foreign aids when the Yankee abandoned them after trained & utilized them to create problems for the Russko occupation in Afghanistan. They survived & still won the last laugh!
Hence the visit to China - knowing ONLY China would help to redevelop their war-torn country!
Eat yr f*cked c&p trashed for our daily meals lah. They sure r filling for u!
The last time the Taliban were in power, the number of girls attending school was 0.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is the true ,unvarnished PAS mentality.
Let's see what the Taliban does this time.
I Sokong 500 yo Bullyland provided Bodyguard Security and Economic Assistance and Military Training to Afghanistan for Nation Building, Now After 20 year I Sokong they Balik Kampung and pass the Baton to 5000 yo Bullyland whom Ayam Sure Will do a Better Job. Don't Run Away ya....until 2041.
ReplyDeleteUS went into Afghanistan on a vengeance mission - to whack Osama who purportedly destroyed Twin Towers on 9/11 - this act I am not persuaded as yet that it had been al Qaeda (I'll explain again soon). It took the US years of bribery before it succeeded in killing Osama.
DeleteIt stayed on in Afghanistan to prevent Al Qaeda from regrouping and strengthening there (Taliban has no external interest so was never a prime factor) - in truth the US was never interested in the wellbeing of Afghans.
Ironically during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan (the USSR's Vietnam) the US supplied Al Qaeda and Taliban with arms and money, and provided training, as part of its Cold War strategy - the US was never interested in the wellbeing of Afghans.
And the greatest irony has been the US' volte-face there when it backed the once-Soviet-back Northern alliance (anti-Taliban warlords) who it used to wage war against during the Soviet occupation. Thus we could see the prostitution attitude of the US - fight against A (Northern Alliance warlords) and back B (al Qaeda and Taliban)- then fight against B (Taliban) and backed its former enemy A (the Northern Alliance warlords)
It dragooned (bullied) NATO into getting involved in Afghanistan when NATO had no interest nor was formed for the purpose of invading and occupying Afghanistan - which was why we saw Germany, France, Holland, UK etc there.
To reiterate as well as summarise, the US was never interested in the wellbeing of Afghans, nor had it been interested in the wellbeing of Vietnamese, Thai, Taiwanese, Japanese, Koreans or for that matter, Europeans. The ONLY country the US cares about (because of domestic votes) was, has been, is and will be Israel - only for the US politicians' own election skins
Since 5000 yo Bullyland cares about the wellbeing of Afghanistan, Taliban or otherwise.....and as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a Wannabe SuperPower, SuperEconomy, SuperSpace etc please don't shirk your duty, look after the Security and Wellbeing of poor countries.
DeletePlease babysit Afghanistan for 20 years. Build all the infrastructure you want. Don't Run Away OK? Till 2041. Ie six years before HK "real" handover. The world is watching.
Or is 5000 yo Bullyland just the same as 500 yo Bullyland, only interested in their own wellbeing....? Which is it?
Over the last 20 years Afghanistan received more US foreign aid than Israel.
DeleteAnd how many votes will American politicians win for fighting in Afghanistan? The majority of Americans DON'T sapot this war and wanted a pull-out, years ago. So this argument is false.
That's just left-wing extremist Ktemoc cartoon image, not a real picture of USA.
DeleteBlurred mfer, pray that u last that 20yr to see the Afghanistan moderated & helped by China!
DeleteIf u do last that long, what would u fart then?
"Just pure luck!" wouldn't even buy a glass of water to quench yr hysterical shout.
