PM rules out unity govt with opposition, prepared to meet on suitable role
Newly minted Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has ruled out the possibility of including opposition members in his cabinet.
However, he reiterated his offer to involve them in the special committee on Covid-19 and the National Recovery Council (NRC) and is prepared to meet them to sort out the details.
"I thank them, the opposition has given an encouraging response. They want to discuss and God-willing I will meet with them to discuss - they want to know what role they can play," Ismail Sabri told a press conference in Sungai Petani, Kedah today.
He added that the cooperation won't involve cabinet positions for the opposition.
"There is no cooperation with the opposition that will involve the cabinet. Cooperation does not necessarily mean in the cabinet," he said.
The fundamental problem with BN /PN
ReplyDeleteis the two NOs
No Anwar Ibrahim
NO DAP
They simply cannot get past that.
I can understand 'No DAP' as both Primubi Bersatu and especially PAS want to keep the govt an all-Malay entity, while UMNO grassroots does harbour fear of the DAP after years of indoctrination by Mahathir, but why 'No Anwar'?
DeleteNow TP & OKM are proven 100% RIGHT. Everybody So full of hatred nobody could think straight like these two.
ReplyDeleteShould have banged table with Mahiaddin when he was in a weak position. Harapan would have got so many concessions from his weak gomen. Including a July 2022 GE, maybe even DPM....
Now Agong oredy sworn in Ismail Sabri. No cabinet position for Harapan. And GE probably in 2023.
Still no apologies forthcoming? Ha ha ha....Ronnie, Dr Boo, Nathaniel very quiet.....so will they oso demand DAP rejek National Recovery Council and Covid-19 Committee...? So arrogant...and end up with KOSONG...?
