So, we'll be still stuck with Ass-binte, Air Suam, Doraemon, Telly-Tubby, Twat etc - What the Eff-ing good is a "new" old failed cabinet

Cabinet will be relatively unchanged under Ismail, says Annuar

Annuar Musa also said MPs should be ashamed that they were struggling for power when the people are facing hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

KUALA LUMPUR: A former minister in Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration believes Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s Cabinet line-up will not change much from the previous one.

Annuar Musa, the former federal territories minister, said this is because those who can be part of the Cabinet come from the same pool of 114 MPs who initially supported Muhyiddin.

However, Annuar, who was speaking to reporters at an event here, said the Cabinet line-up is the prime minister’s prerogative and that no one should put pressure on him.

“The prime minister’s authority should not be undermined, let’s not pressure him. We must respect the system where this is his sole prerogative.”

He also said all MPs should feel ashamed that they were struggling for power and intent on toppling the government when the people were facing hardship due to Covid-19.

“MPs do not need to make threats about jumping ship because it affects the stability (of the country),” he said, adding the people elected them as MPs to serve society and not to engage in excessive politicking.

Ismail has been appointed the country’s 9th prime minister and will be sworn in today. He succeeds Muhyiddin who resigned on Monday after he lost majority support.

Initially, Muhyiddin enjoyed the support of all Umno MPs but later on the party withdrew support for him. Now, Umno has given its full backing to Ismail, the party’s vice-president for the top job.

Earlier, Annuar flagged off a convoy of volunteers sending aid to flood victims in Kedah.
