Wan Saiful Wan Jan.
Najib said he also plans to similarly sue Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan. “My lawyer will also apply for action to be taken against Muhyiddin and Wan Saiful for contempt of court,” he said in a Facebook post.
Muhyiddin had alleged earlier this month that he was under pressure from “certain parties” to intervene in the matters of the court in order to set several individuals free from criminal charges.
He said that these individuals were uneasy over his strict stand in refusing to entertain their demands.
Separately, Wan Saiful alleged that Najib had asked the then prime minister to remove the judges presiding over his SRC International Sdn Bhd corruption appeal hearing, a charge which Najib later denied.
Najib and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are among those who have been taken to court on corruption charges.

We have heard this before from Jibby. Threaten this threaten that. He has yet to sue WSJ after their 1MDB expose, or Tommy Thomas after his book about Altantuya. But nothing happened.
ReplyDeleteWhen Mahiaddin came into power after Sheraton Shake Jibby said "the atmosphere would be a more conducive for a fair trial". Was this Contempt of Court?
ReplyDeleteNow he want to sue Mahiaddin for court interference? Jibby is now saying he didn't get a fair trial under Mahiaddin?
Pusing Pusing Circular Logik.

Prosecution seeks contempt proceedings against Najib for comments about trial
KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): The prosecution in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB)-Tanore trial told the High Court today that they intend to apply for contempt proceedings against former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for comments he made about the trial being unfair.
Lead Deputy Public Prosecutor in the trial, Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, said he intends to initiate the proceedings because an article quoting Najib in March contained serious allegations.
In an interview with Reuters on March 4 this year, Najib had said the fall of the Pakatan Harapan government meant that he expected an atmosphere more conducive to a fair hearing in the trial under the new Perikatan Nasional government.
“This means that your Lordship's court acted unfairly before the changing of the government. This is a serious allegation. I would be pushed to take contempt proceedings against the accused (Najib),” Sri Ram informed the presiding judge, Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
The article quoted Najib as saying: “I would expect that the atmosphere would be more conducive towards a fair trial.
“I’m not alluding to anything, because there's no conclusion to the trial... But hopefully, you know, I will get a fair trial.”

Dei Najib, you cannot sue someone for defamation over general remarks that never named a person, and cannot be objectively assigned to be a person.
ReplyDeleteOf course, whoever ate the chilli will feel the sting, but that's His problem , not a problem for the Courts.
