PETALING JAYA: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council has rejected the “insincere offers” made by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, saying they shouldn’t have come when he is supposedly at the end of his political life.
They also slammed him for assuming that no other leader commands parliamentary majority support, stating that this was a matter for the King to decide.
“This is the first time in the history of Malaysia that a prime minister has admitted to losing majority support but yet openly continues to solicit support from the opposition,” they said.
“Pakatan Harapan has taken a stand to firmly push aside all the insincere offers that Tan Sri (Muhyiddin) should have made earlier, rather than at the end of his political life,” PH said in a statement.
The statement was signed by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi thanked Muhyiddin for his “admission” that he no longer had majority support and said the King should not be allowed to make a decision.
PETALING JAYA: Umno has become the latest party to reject Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s proposal for a more inclusive administration, with its president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi saying the party cannot consider offers from a person who has lost his legitimacy.
Umno’s stand comes after nearly all the opposition parties announced their rejection of Muhyiddin’s proposal for reforms should he win September’s confidence vote.
Muhiyddin had proposed term limits for prime ministers, equal allocations for MPs, anti-party hopping legislation and a bevy of others if MPs kept him in power.
In a statement, Zahid thanked Muhyiddin for his “admission” that he no longer enjoyed majority support in Parliament.
“We advise the people to remain calm until the Yang di-Pertuan Agong carries out his duties under the Federal Constitution to appoint a new prime minister from among the MPs.”
Zahid described Muhyiddin’s proposal as a “bribe” and a “desperate” move to ensure his political survival.
He also said as an MP who took the oath to uphold the constitution, Muhyiddin should not undermine the King’s authority and claim that no one else had the majority to form the government.
“Umno would like to thank our 15 MPs who have remained loyal to the party and for continuing to defend the royal institution and the Federal Constitution.”
Earlier Pakatan Harapan, Warisan, Parti Sarawak Bersatu, MUDA and Upko had all announced their rejection of Muhyiddin’s proposals.
However, some MPs, namely DAP’s Ong Kian Ming and Tony Pua have said that Muhyiddin’s proposal should be considered.

Yes, those cliff hanging proposals should be seriously considered!
ReplyDeleteThey r the key ingredients for a new administration AFTER the final disintegration of the ketuanan agendas with the slow demise of that f*cked racist hegemony.
Surprisingly, only TWO cinabengs could see through the mist!
"....should be considered" does not equal to accept or reject. I think TP & OKM want to squeeze Mahiaddin's balls and see him sweat & squirm across the negotiating table ha ha ha....
ReplyDelete"All of Government, Whole of Society" was what Father Lim has been talking about since last year. Now Mahiaddin talks as if it was his idea. No Shame.

Is it better to have Najib or Zahid to be PM ?
ReplyDeleteTP and OKM may unfortunately be right. It is not a given that the 14 UMNO frogs will sapot Anwar. Toonsie and Pejuang (4) even more doubtful. If these 18 MPs vote Mahiaddin out but not vote for Anwar to be PM, we could end up with 101 each for Anwar and Mahiaddin and since Mahiaddin has more durians he is more likely to gain a few more.
