Doctored video of Kula (DAP VP) alleges PN-led government trying to wipe out Malaysian Indians with "special" vaccine

Doctored video of me is malicious and cruel, says DAP’s Kula

M Kula Segaran pointing to the fake video in a TikTok clip that he had produced to say that the claims made in the viral video are false.

PETALING JAYA: DAP vice-chairman M Kula Segaran says he is the victim of a doctored video that shows him with his mask on but with someone else’s voice dubbed to make it seem like it was him speaking.

In the clip that has gone viral, the voice claims that the government was trying to inject Indians with a solution that was different from the actual Covid-19 vaccines.

“It is clearly not my voice. You can check all my videos on TikTok,” Kula said in a TikTok video he had produced to counter the viral video, adding that it was a malicious and cruel act.

The Ipoh Barat MP said that whoever edited the video and mimicked his voice obviously misused their talent.

“I feel whoever has this talent ought to use it positively and develop a legitimate and thriving business. He or his group have the talent to succeed in this field,” he said.

He also questioned if the doctored video was produced by his political enemies.

The video in Tamil had gone viral on social media. The voice in the clip claimed that the Perikatan Nasional-led government was trying to wipe out Indians in Malaysia.

Claiming that Indians were being given a different Covid-19 vaccine than those given to others, the voice says the Indian community would be “finished” (“bungkus”) in two years.

When contacted, Kula told FMT that he would be lodging a police report.

  1. A Dark Side of Tik-Tok video filters.

The functions, widely regarded as "Cute" , can be used manipulate the video and audio to lip-synch to make it look like a person said the words, even if the audio is a totally separate source.

If people just take the videos at face value, the person can be made to appear like he said almost anything.
