Guan Eng serving as 'distraction'?

On Guan Eng's corruption, thus far lots of noises but nothing substantial.

Gobind Singh, who's acting for Guan Eng said the charge against Chye-Chye was flawed as the prosecutors had not mentioned the amount of the alleged bribe in the charge sheet. Insofar as charges go, failure to mention the amount involved is legally a fatal matter. So theoretically those charges are prematurely dead.

Many suspect that it's payback time for slights done to Najib, but I differ in that because just what the hell has Guan Eng got to do with Najib's conviction when PH is no longer the government (even if the independence of the judiciary is held in contempt with such an avowal).

Nor I think it has to do with one Old Man registering his "new" "newer" "newest" party a.k.a UMNO IV**, wakakaka.

** UMNO (Tunku's), UMNO II (Maddy's), UMNO III (PPBM)

I suspect Guan Eng and wifey's charges (different in each case) have to do with gross distractions, amidst a pending (or already ongoing) "Malay Dignity" internecine warfare.

  1. The solution is easy. Just get ex-AG TT to submit an affidavit to current AG Idrus Harun to say he does not think Guanee is guilty.

Just like Apandi did for Musa Aman and immediately everything beres.

This Idrus Harun very kwai kwai.

  2. KT is no naive. Guanee is secgen of the most stable and powerful party in Parliament. Charging him with corruption is ideal cannon fodder for coming elections.

  3. Valuation of property can vary widely, even within the same area. A fully renovated house (like with swimming pool ha ha ha) can be valued much higher than a basic un-renovated one like Guanee's.

Henry Butcher's valuation of Guanee's house (2.5 million) is even lower than what was paid (2.8 million).

No 25 Jalan Pinhorn bungalow price tag was RM2.5 million in 2008
    By Audrey Dermawan - March 27, 2018

GEORGE TOWN: The market value for the bungalow at No 25 Jalan Pinhorn was RM2.5 million back in 2008.

This was told to the High Court by Henry Butcher director Teoh Poh Huat on the second day of the corruption trial involving Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and businesswoman Phang Li Koon.

Teoh said the RM2.5 million valuation was reasonable taking into account the prices of similar properties near the said bungalow.

Elaborating, he said the company had received an application from Public Bank Bhd for a valuation report on the bungalow on Nov 21, 2008.

“The report was for a loan/credit security purposes which Phang had applied for from the bank.

“Our valuation department assistant manager Yeoh Peng Hong had conducted the valuation by having a physical visit to the bungalow and other properties near by.

“It was then concluded that the reasonable market price was RM2.5 million while forced sale value was RM1.85 million. The fire insurance value was at RM600,000 then,” he said in his witness statement read out before High Court Judge Datuk Hadhariah Syed Ismail.

Teoh was testifying in a joint corruption trial involving Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Phang....

....Lim had bought the bungalow from Phang in 2015 for RM2.8 million.

    1. Guan Eng's current charges have nothing to do with the bungalow, over which he cannot be charged again because of "double jeopardy"

    2. It's simple to go around this - go for Betty, that would not be double jeopardy. The house is probably under both names.

  4. The Lim Guan Eng case, while factually totally unrelated to the Thief Najib case, politically it has everything to do with it.

The Race and Religion supremacists are still in a rage over Thief Najib's conviction, and now that they are in power, are demanding an eye for an eye.

    1. don't think so for the reason PPBM continues to be in govt with Hamzah Zainuddin (PPBM) the Home Minister. Najib's conviction has been the result of Mahathir's rule in govt continued by Muhyiddin
