CORONAVIRUS | Seven men with links to suspected Covid-19 cases are reported to have escaped from a quarantine centre in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

According to a source quoted by The Star, the men - Indonesians and Bangladeshis - were living at Selangor Mansion (photo, above), Menara City One and Kampung Baru with suspected coronavirus cases.

It was alleged the men made good their escape in the early morning hours of Monday. Their disappearances were reportedly discovered about 10am that morning by doctors making their rounds.

They were to have been quarantined up to May 7, The Star reported last night.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim referred the matter to the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma), which oversees quarantine centres.

Health officials conducted screenings at the PKNS flat in Kampung Baru last month following a Covid-19-related death there.

It was later reported that some 23 residents were found to have tested positive.
