Mahathir shows his PPBM lacks Malay support

FMT:

Dr M: Without partners, PPBM will be crushed

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has forecast a bleak future for the party he founded

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad this evening predicted that PPBM, the party he founded, would lose badly in the next general election if they are not part of any coalition, whether Perikatan Nasional or Pakatan Harapan.

The former prime minister noted that Umno leaders had said they were not part of PN and this meant Umno could contest in any seat at the elections, including those contested by PPBM.

At the same time, PPBM also ran the risk of being rejected by PH, the coalition formed after PPBM, PKR, DAP and Amanah won the 2018 general election. PPBM left in February to form PN with Umno, PAS and other parties.

Mahathir said the PPBM faction which backed Muhyiddin to form the new government must realise that there was a non-existent promise of an alliance with Umno and PAS.

“PPBM is in a position where on one hand they will not be backed by Umno and on the other hand, they will not get PH’s support.

“So PPBM is in limbo and there is a huge possibility they will lose badly,” Mahathir said in a speech to commemorate the second anniversary of PH’s 2018 victory.

He said the hope of the Malays, for PPBM to replace Umno, would then vanish. He said PPBM was founded for the Malays and Bumiputeras, as Umno failed to give them priority.

His statement comes in the wake of reports of PH’s attempts to lure PPBM back into its fold in the hope of overthrowing the Perikatan Nasional government.

Mahathir has effectively confessed to the World and more importantly to Malaysia that:

(1) He does NOT have Malay support, which was the erroneous high expectation of Pakatan Harapan prior to GE14 when the coalition (or KHAT eSS) invited him and his PPBM to join Harapan - this means he and his PPBM were/are/will be bloody useless to Harapan, which by that fact per se is OK except for ONE humongous issue, that of his treacherous nature, eg. resigning abruptly to eff up the Pakatan Harapan government without so much as a warning word to his Harapan colleagues (or supposedly 'colleagues'),

(2) He has just placed his PPBM as an opportunistic party of no firm ideology nor conviction, in saying his racist party isn't likely to get support from UMNO (BN & PN) nor PH in GE15 if it remains in its present status, unwittingly saying PPBM should seek an alliance, any alliance (and eff the ideology),

(3) He toks-kok in positing that the hope of the Malays [was/is] for PPBM to replace Umno considering his PPBM won only 13 out of the 52 federal parliamentary constituencies it contested in GE14, and only 5 out of the 108 state seats it participated also in GE14 - where the eff then was the claimed Malay 'hope' of wanting/hoping for PPBM to replace UMNO if they had rejected his party in GE14?

On a separate though related point, I'm disappointed that Harapan has through the coo-ing words of Salahuddin Ayub (and the writings of Khalid Samad) and some unbelievable DAP leaders like KHAT eSS, Chye-Chye and Liew Chin Tong to PPBM, still wanted such a treacherous man and his racist party in Harapan.

As Malaysiakini columnist Commander (rtd) S Thayaparan said, Anwar just wants to be always Mr Nice Guy (in still 'holding hands' with Mahathir) in a counterproductive optics of being seen as 'weak', even when his own party PKR detests the very idea of ever collaborating again with a treacherous Man who effs Anwar continuously.

Anwar's declaration of himself as Opposition Leader has been a correct and good step in asserting himself as Harapan's Leader, but he ruins that by making silly useless joint statement with Mahathir in saying they would continue to fight to return the mandate of the people to the right party - eff, has Anwar forgotten that Mahathir had dismissed the mandate as something NOT to be taken seriously? What an idiot!

Mahathir confessed that Pakatan Harapan (with him as the Leader) made all sorts of impossible promises before GE14 (a la Harapan mandate) because they thought Harapan won't win GE14

in others words, they had lied lied and lied when making up the mandate
