PETALING JAYA: A DAP MP from Melaka has urged the newly formed Perikatan Nasional state government to come clean over rumours that two individuals including a former chief minister once suspended for “money politics” in Umno are being considered for the post of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri.
Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong was referring to speculation that former chief minister Ali Rustam and Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s former political secretary Zahid Mat Arip are in the running to replace Mohd Khalil Yaakob, whose governorship will end on June 4.
Ali Rustam |
Zahid Mat Arip bloke was recently (prior to PN govt) Mahathir's political secretary - was said to have thumped table in front of Mahathir during last Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting, wakakaka |
“Those rumours have caused uneasiness among the people of Melaka with regards to the suitability of those candidates,” he said in a statement.
“For the record, Ali Rustam and three of his agents were found guilty in 2009 by the disciplinary board of his own party, Umno, of money politics.
“Zahid Mat Arip was recently linked to the corruption case of Felda’s former chairman, Isa Samad.”

Khoo also questioned the recent claim by current chief minister, Sulaiman Md Ali, that he knew nothing about the appointment of the new Yang di-Pertua.
The role of the Yang di-Pertua is largely ceremonial, although he has the final say in matters such as the dissolution of the state assembly as well as in granting pardons.
Khoo said the Federal Constitution states that the chief minister is involved in appointing the governor in consultation with the Agong.
“The principles of democracy require the chief minister to exercise transparency and good governance in the matter of appointing the new Yang di-Pertua Negeri. The individual nominated for appointment must be of high integrity, independent, and enjoys public confidence,” said Khoo.
He added that candidates should be nominated based on their capability and track record.
"In April 2001, a police report was lodged by Pahang state assemblyman Fauzi Abdul Rahman (UMNO, then PKR, wakakaka) alleging that Mohd Khalil misappropriated state resources as Pahang Menteri Besar". Khalil left politics to assume his role as Yang DiPertua negeri Melaka in 2004.
But if Harapan (DAP) still insists that neither Ali Rustam nor Zahid Arip should be Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, I would recommend another person, namely, KHAT-aSS or as known to his supporters Uncle Lim, wakakaka.
He is of an age that makes him suitable to be Head of State for Melaka, and again if anyone complains he's not from Melaka, well, neither was Khalid, a Pahangite. Besides, Melaka's first governor was also Chinese Malaysian, Leong Yew Koh. Like KHAT-eSS he was also a law graduate of London University.
Being Head of State of Melaka will be a fitting tribute to KHAT-aSS which will see him occupied in a useful role until 2030. He comes highly recommended, not just by sweet innocent kaytee but most likely by Atuk wakakaka.
As they say,

a commentary that apparently disguise one hatred with wakakaka.
ReplyDeleteI always wonder why KT always kick himself in the backside whenever he tries to be smart. Moronic, stupidity or just plain ignorant? No lah none of these, just plain hatred...ha ha ha....
ReplyDeleteIn 2004 Khalil was appointed Governor by BN government; did Liow Tiong Lai make any noise? Was DAP responsible for the appointment in 2004? More importantly did KT then kick up a fuss about Khalil's checkered past?
No? Was it because Khalil was from Pahang, where Liow Tiong Lai's Parliamentary seat of Bentong is located? Fren Fren?
Or since Liow Tiong Lai was born in Melaka why doesn't Jellyfish Party MCA lobby for Liow to be made Governor?
In 2020 PN government will appoint another governor, will Wee KHAT Siong query the suitability of the candidate? Why KT don't ask Wee KHAT Siong to speak up in cabinet? Boh Lam Phar?
Why when LKS is doing his job he still get scolding?
