Mahathir & 'His' Chinese

Malaysiakini's article, Dr M: Malays should fear 'pro-China PM' more than DAP (extracts):

The Malays and Umno have more reasons to fear Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's reliance on China than the DAP, according to Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

The former prime minister said there was a likelihood that Malacca and Kuantan's new port facilities, approved by the Najib administration, would be used by the Chinese military.

"A victory for Najib and Umno (in the next election) would bind Malaysia with China and Malaysia would no longer have a neutral foreign policy like before," he added in a blog post.

Mahathir cited a Chinese writer, whom he did not name, as stating that the two ports would be used by the superpower's naval forces.

Mahathir has been exactly like my Penang auntie, wakakaka, dropping names but with no name, as in '... cited a Chinese writer, whom he did not name'.

For my auntie to do so is okay, but for a former PM of Malaysia?

But the above bull by Mahathir, while incredulously unsubstantiated, was in itself not a major issue as we know such name dropping but with no name mentioned has been a common habit of many, wakakaka.

The more worrying, annoying and sad thing has to be about Mahathir's old habit of demon-izing Chinese that should be of concern to all of us Malaysians.

Yes, he was attacking Najib but his character is such he has to simultaneously hit at his old bête noire, the Chinese.

Yes, the pitiful Old Man has again fallen back on on his favourite naughty habit of bashing Chinese, whether the Chinese are Malayan Chinese, Alor Setar Chinese, Malaysian Chinese, DAP Chinese, Penang Chinese, Singaporean Chinese or now, China's Chinese.

It's just that he wants to ally his Pribumi with DAP that he has attacked China (Chinese), or DAP would have gotten it kau kau from him as the socialist party had for the last nearly 50 years.

So he berputar-belit like a venous cobra as he saw fit, from DAP to Singapore to DAP to China to ... god knows which Chinese faction will be next, assuming he lives to the auspicious Chinese age (wakakaka) of 108, which I suspect he will as his family is renowned for their longevity DNA - sorry Anwar and Najib, wakakaka.

what's in a name?
that which we call a yellow rose
by any other name
would still be a f**king yellow Chinaman

- Mahawhatever

I know he hates Chinese but for him to sing that same old vile venomous vicious bigoted anti-Chinese song is just too much for me, considering he is already 93 and should be better mannered, mellowed and magnanimous.

In 2014, when Najib initiated his 1Malaysia policy, in contrast to Muhyiddin's out-of-sync declaration that he was a 'Malay first' rather than a 'Malaysian first', the PM's head kicker, wakakaka, Minister Nazri, wrote a letter to Utusan's Awang Selamat stating his famous "And yes, I am a Malaysian first and Malay next. Does any bigot have a problem with that?”

At that point in time, Dr Mahathir was unhappy with Najib's 1Malaysia, because as I had suspected, he couldn't bear the thought that under Najib's 1Malaysia administration, O Horror of Horrors, the horrible Chinese would be treated as they were during Tunku's time, as equal citizens, and worse, his much hated DAP might be invited to work collaboratively with UMNO.

too chummy for Mahathir's liking

On 02 August that year the Star Online reported Nazri agrees with Penang proposal to bar foreign cooks in hawker stalls.

Then two weeks later, on 15 August 2014, FMT reported Nazri takes friendly fire which reads (extracts):

Nazri Aziz’s support for Lim Guan Eng’s proposal to ban foreign labour from cooking Penang street fare is one such case to highlight. More recently, there was an attempt by a pro-Umno blogger to link Nazri to a video of a group of people frolicking in their birthday suits on the beach in Teluk Bahang, Penang.

The blogger zeroed in on Nazri and attacked him for his cordial relations with the DAP Chief Minister of Penang, seeing some connection in Nazri’s presence in Penang at the time the video was purportedly taken. Nazri, in his usual frankness, called the blogger “stupid” and “sub-standard”.

This episode with Nazri in his role as the Tourism Minister supporting the government of Penang isn't particularly controversial by any yardstick. But in the eyes of pro-Umno bloggers, Nazri had crossed the line because he was depicted in photos as having far too much fun with Lim at the Penang Arts Festival. [...]

But our fractured society and education system have engendered the belief that politics and government should both be the sole, exclusive domain of Umno or its proxies, and that everything or everyone else is an interloper.

3 days later, on 18 August 2014, TMI reported Dr Mahathir withdraws support for Najib government.

As Nazri is known as the PM's man and thus also seen as a Harbinger of the PM's inclination, and Nazri was seen to be chummy with Lim GE, was Dr M alarmed by Nazri's friendliness with Lim as an omen of Najib's wooing of Lim (and the DAP)?

I had then speculated the following:

Possibly Najib wanted to progress Malaysia onward and out of a likely coming slump - obviously he didn't want to be known or seen as the PM of Malaysia who had allowed his country to become a failed state.

Unlike Mahathir and UMNO's hardliners, he had then assessed he needed the nons to support him in his development plans.

The MCA, MIC and Gerakan have been monumental failures in their inability to gather support from the nons, so to Najib they're f**king useless. Sorry for my blunt words but I was then bluntly truthful.

PKR was automatically persona non grata because of Manmanlai, wakakaka, and PAS is in general, thanks to the ulama (wakakaka) and their desperate need for UMNO to make up the necessary 2/3 to support the hudud push, already in the Malay Muslim Unity bag, a willing captive, so to speak, and proven true today.

By simple elimination, there remained only the DAP which coincidentally had, still has enormous Chinese and to a lesser extent Indian support. Najib wanted to harness those support (remember Hindraf, not so much for its failure but for the fact that Najib wanted its claimed Indian support, wakakaka).

Hence Nazri would be seen as Najib's head-kicking Heretic Harbinger (in his pally-buddy chummy relationship with DAP's Lim GE) because for UMNO to cooperate with the DAP would be considered by its hardliners as an act of political heresy.

But that's precisely why Nazri had that vanguard role, to test the DAP water with his toes and to also take the flak (friendly fire) from the anti-DAP UMNO-ites like Mahathir.

Najib of course didn't necessarily require the DAP to join the BN, but to cooperate in bipartisanship on a number of development fronts.

Add caption
But Dr Mahathir's withdrawal of support for the Najib government, as reported by TMI on 18 August, sure as hell put a stop to the suspected coziness with DAP.

But of course if Mahathir made that brazen wanton sluttish overture with the DAP, and has since done so, it's okay. But nay, not Najib, anyway not while Mahathir was still hateful of the DAP.

Two years ago the now-defunct TMI reported Dr M blasting Ah Jib Gor as follows:

Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s "1Malaysia" slogan is just a duplicate of the opposition’s "Malaysian Malaysia" catchphrase, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today, in his latest attack against the embattled prime minister.

He said Najib had emulated the opposition in his attempts to woo the Chinese and Indians during his first few years in office by dialling back on pro-Bumiputera policies.

“He reduced places for Bumis in the government universities even though in the numerous private universities and twinned colleges, Bumis make up less than 10%,” Dr Mahathir wrote in his latest blog post.

Bumiputera contractors and small businesses no longer had government favour. Most had to stop their businesses."

“Without saying so in so many words, he had adopted the Malaysian Malaysia slogan of the opposition, only calling it One Malaysia instead.”

The above was again his 2 in 1 attack, against Najib as well as indirectly against the Chinese when he accused Najib of sacrificing the Malays' piece of cake for the Chinese.

Mahathir was conveying the vile image of the Chinese sucking up the Malays' share of goodies, courtesy of Najib.

orang Perkasa

Wikipedia stated that prior to May 13, Mahathir had predicted the outbreak of racial hostility. Then, outside parliament, he openly criticised the government, sending a letter to Abdul Rahman in which the PM then was criticised for failing to uphold Malay interests.

If so, then Ah Jib Gor must be like Tunku Abdul Rahman who was similarly accused by Dr M of being too friendly to the Chinese and for failing to look after Malay 'interests'.

It's Mahathir's perennial, perpetual, prosecutorial leitmotif against the Chinese Malaysians.

Once K. Siladass, who joined the DAP in very early days after coming across from the Labour Party (self shutdown since 1969) wrote the following in 2013 (extracts):

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former prime minister had indeed accused Malaysia’s first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman of having done something not permitted by law by granting citizenship to one million foreign immigrants.

By foreign immigrants he meant mainly Chinese Malaysians.

all bloody Chinese, and that's where they should stay and be

Historians of repute will be quick to confirm how inhuman, unsound, flippant and exasperating is Mahathir’s allegation.

Yes, he sounded 'inhuman' but it was his hatred for the Chinese.

The granting of citizenship to “foreign immigrants” was not the work of one man – Tunku alone. Besides, it is wicked of Mahathir to claim that one million or so residents in Malaya were purely immigrants ignoring the fact that they had lived in this country for generations; and had been an integral part in the resistance against the Japanese occupation and in the fight against communism.

Those one million or so “foreign immigrants” as Mahathir arrogantly and wickedly describes are the ones who saw the economic progress of this country from the time the East India Company arrived here, under constant perilous conditions.

It is indeed shocking that Mahathir had not acquainted himself of the negotiations among the Alliance Partners consisting of UMNO-MCA-MIC, the predecessor of Barisan Nasional (BN) which played a prominent role in achieving Merdeka.

Aside this, it is also shocking that a man of Mahathir’s stature would descend to cheap politics in hurling condemnation against the late Tunku, who was indeed instrumental in ensuring that the radicals from all sides did not scuttle the movement towards Merdeka by their emotional actions.

These historical facts are there for the world to see; that the partners in Alliance were concerned as to the type of policy that had to be adopted and implemented after Merdeka in relation to education, citizenship and Malay special privileges. These were classified as sensitive issues and it is fair to infer that there must have been a lot of debate over them.

Based on unsubstantiated myths, the genesis of Mahathir's general indisposition (hatred) towards the Chinese (he of course has his exceptions like Matthias Chang, Ling, etc) laid in his earlier university days in Singapore, where some said he was allegedly ill-treated by some Chinese undergraduates there, while others said he allegedly had feelings for an Ah Moi but was rejected. Such were the myths explaining or attempting to explain his immense dislike for Chinese. I won't bother to separate wheat from chaff from such stories.

Perhaps because of his alleged unpleasant experiences during his university days, or perhaps independent of that, we heard him saying arrogantly in 1969 that he didn't need Chinese voters to support him in the 1969 general election.

Unfortunately for him, he lost his seat to PAS' Yusof Rawa in the federal constituency of Kota Setar Selatan, thanks to the Chinese voters deliberately and unprecedentedly voting for PAS instead of UMNO because of his dismissal of them.

Yes, in those days which Chinese Malaysian would have voted for PAS, if they were not insulted by the hurtful arrogance of Mahathir Mohamad.

It was said he has never forgiven the Chinese for that early election loss, even though he was the one who said he didn't need their votes, wakakaka. But Mahathir being Mahathir, he conveniently forgot those Chinese saved his 6 o'clock in 1999. Memang Melayu mudah lupa, wakakaka.

Mahathir so dislikes the Chinese Malaysians that in March 2015, the Malay Mail Online published Dr M: Malaysia will be like Singapore if Pakatan takes power.

Mahathir claimed that nothing good will come of Chinese dominance in politics or the economy — as has happened in neighbouring Singapore — as Malaysia is a multi-cultural society mostly made up of the Malays.

Mind, Mahathir had been correct in asserting that there's Chinese dominance in Singapore politics and economy, though alas he didn't provide the reason, but which I now will, wakakaka.

The status quo in Singapore, namely, Chinese dominance in politics and economy, has been because Singapore's ethnic breakdown shows:

Chinese at 74.3%
Malays at 13.3%
Indians at 9.1%

... which had been why Ravinder Singh, an Indian (from a population base of only 9.1%), was able to become the nation's Chief of the Army from 2011 to 2014, wakakaka.

Maj-Gen Ravinder Singh

Chief of Army, Singapore
2011 - 2014

Had/has any Chinese Malaysian become Chief of the Malaysian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police or Civil Service?

And pray tell us what's the ethnic composition of the Malaysian Police, Malaysian Armed Forces, Malaysian Civil Service, Malaysian Judiciary, Malaysian educational community including university VC's, school principals and students especially at university level, etc?

74.3% Chinese in Sing is likely to dominate in almost everything, but 23+% Chinese in Malaysia?

Wasn't Mahathir deliberately being provocatively agitating and scare-mongering, as he once again is now with China now?

But take a look at M2Day's PENULIS CHINA MANA YANG MAHATHIR MAKSUD? which reported:

IJM masih memiliki 60% pelabuhan Kuantan.

Recently I arrived at Penang International Airport and went into the tax-free grog shop to buy a Johnny Walker Double Black. Guess who were the staff there?

So Mahathir needn't worry.

halal?

And which ethnicity owns most of the banks and financial houses? Then what about the GLCs?

Even the Pakatan-led government in Selangor would not support a Chinese to be the temporary professional head in charge of PKNS, so what more elsewhere!

Mahathir should stop his usual bigoted scare-mongering and talking cock, wakakaka.

However, I have to grudgingly admit that Chinese Malaysians indeed 'dominate' in the pirate DVD trade, illegal 4-Ekor bookie business and bah-kut-teh hawkering, wakakaka!

Chinese dominate the bah-kut-teh food stalls, wakakaka

Holly Reeves of ASEAN Today wrote:

The Chinese are coming says Malaysia’s ageing strongman leader and developing national joke, Mahathir Mohamad. People should be afraid. They want our country, our land and to rob Malaysians of their rightful opportunities.

His comments refer to the RM170 billion (US$38 billion) Forest City development project in Johor, but his remarks play on a growing racial undercurrent in Malaysian politics.

Listen to his cold vitriol, and he claims massive Chinese investment in the region means 700,000 foreigners would be given citizenship, then be eligible to vote in the next general election. “Whatever ideology they believe in might change the colour of Malaysian politics,” he implores.

Mahathir’s statements are full of self-interest and rewrite the history of his rule

But the colour of these statements is clearly yellow. They are the position of a coward, hiding his self-interest behind that of the country.

“Here, we have Dr Mahathir creating fear, using race, just to fulfil his political motives. He is not stupid, he is just selfish and opportunistic,” says Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar.

You see, yet again, this is Mahathir twisting facts to try and win points against Prime Minister Najib. His recent blog posts are rewriting history to say money from overseas which he took was to the country’s benefit, but the new Chinese investment deals his successor has signed are underhand and inappropriate.

“I find that Mahathir and his allies are only talking negative things, most of which are a figment of his imagination and evil thoughts,” adds the Johor region’s monarch bites back in an interview with The Star.

“I feel sad for him because he had to lower himself to this point. It is okay to disagree but please do not concoct things,” the Sultan added.

Meanwhile, Zainal Abidin wrote The Man in the Ivory Tower in Malaysia-Today (obviously in earlier times when he still hated the DAP, wakakaka):

TDM’s remark that “Malays only voted for BN because they feared Anwar would appoint Kit Siang as DPM” is an affront to the intelligence and thinking skills of Malays.

By saying that, TDM is acknowledging his failure to change the mindset and education system of the nation when he was the PM. If TDM believes his policies are gold-plated ones, surely he would concede that Malays in this country have matured in their analytical abilities and moral standing. [...]

With due respect, TDM must see that in this entire planet, he is the one and only political leader who has consistently blasted his successor and his successor’s successor – both of whom he handpicked. No other political leader has sunk to such a low.

Apart from being a naysayer, TDM has also turned soothsayer foretelling the loss of BN in GE14 should Najib still leads BN.

Controversies and the process of election are two different matters. TDM, for all the years of political experience he has amassed, must realize the performance of a political party in any election depends on many factors. His statement is a clear indication that he wants Najib out at all costs and will sing any tune to any band as long as the lyrics of the song wax lyrical about his never-ending refrain of ousting Najib.

I recommend you read Zainal Abidin's The Man in the Ivory Tower in full.

So this is the man Siti Nurhaliza and some of my visitors love, respect and will vote for.

  2. “Mahathir cited a Chinese writer, whom he did not name, as stating that the two ports would be used by the superpower's naval forces.”

if one do read chinese, unlike bullshitter such as lss n hmmm..., one could read there r many articles that talk abt the same subject. many mainlanders dun like spore bec they believe sporean r american lackey, thus both kuantan n melaka could be a china strategic military base to counter n compete against usa/spore. mahathir have a point, however i believe he might do the same if he is still the pm.

i dun know, some people hate jew, some hate camel n muslim, some fond of chinese or emperor, some submissive to liar, some prefer thief n robber that bath keris with his blood. so no surprise even if mahathir dun like chinese.

  3. I penned a comment on this blog about the Chinese is possibly planning to use the almost lifeless Kuantan navy base for her South China Sea military maneuver.

Thus the investment in the RM55bil East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) project.

I even asked KT to check with his military info savvy uncle!

    Ha....KT rubbished it.

What do one expect? When one is dead silo on opinion singularity (like hentam Anwar & mamak endlessly) while ONLY read into what one wants to read (like ahjibgor de man!)?

Quoting numerics acrobat like lss, too & playing into his trick!(BTW, with the collapse of the Chinese-aided Bandar M'sia project, can u ask lss to re-invent his 1MDB arithmetic ke?)

More so on mono-languastic medium (on selected countries, too)!

Not totally fate news though, but just as trash for passing time syiok-sendirism lah.
