BN has promised to bring back free plastic bags for shoppers should it recapture Selangor in the coming 14th general election.
Selangor BN information chief Satim Diman said the ruling federal coalition will put a stop to the practice of making shoppers pay 20 sen if they want plastic bags when buying groceries.
"This is part of the BN manifesto, if BN gets back the Selangor government, no more payments for plastic bags. Do you want this?"

Hmm....
DeleteUndiPAS - back to stone age
Stone age eh? Back then, humans were more contended and the environment was in a much better shape than now. Perhaps not such a bad idea after all.
DeleteWakakakaka.... I do sincerely hope u r not talking through that other orifice.
DeleteThere r many countries on mothership Earth still living close to stone age conditions.
Most the islamic failed states fit yr stated outworldly 'wants'. Why not consider moving there. It's definitely not a bad idea after all. Right?
No problem with that. Only issue is, the rest of the world especially the Westerners, has fuckedup mothership Earth so badly that no singular stone age country can save the planet from "advanced & educated" human beings.
DeleteDo remember, these superior countries became superior by plundering the resources of these stone age countries and people, on the pretense of 'saving the natives from their ignorance and primitiveness'. Well, these "advanced & educated people" became rich while those natives became worse than before.
Perhaps going back to the basics in liew of a more holistic & humanising path to development is not a bad idea after all. Right?
The problem here is the effect of PLASTIC BAGS on marine life, not plastic items as such.
ReplyDeleteSo what is needed is how to render waste plastic bags harmless to marine life and one simple way is to collect them through recycling centres and to melt them down into plastic blocks or something like that, so that they won't get into the seas and rivers and be mistaken for jellyfish or any food.
I'd also like to know how effective the current no plastic bags rule in Selangor, Penang and other states has been in actually reducing the number of marine life which have died or been harmed by plastic bags, which can still be bought for 20 sen under the current ruling and similarly disposed of, without proper recycling or processing to render them harmless, and possibly useful for some purpose.
Without such measures, this No Plastic Bags ruling is just an ineffective, trendy, feel good, look good, token measure.
