It concerns Malay attitude towards Chinese and Indians, but with a bizarre mix-up. And I'm not referring to Indian Muslims or Christians or Bahá'ís but only Indian Hindus.
To me, it seems Malays in general trust Indians more than they do Chinese, yet on the matter of religion, Malays dislike Indian religion (Hinduism) more than they do Chinese religions.
In fact Malays are quite hostile towards Hinduism, as have been seen with the actions, words and anti Hindu poem of Dr Asri, the Mufti of Perlis, ...
Dr Asri demonised Dr Ramasamy DCM II Penang |
... the brandishing of a cow's head by Muslim youths protesting against the construction of a Hindu temple in Section 23 in Shah Alam, Selangor in 2009 and ...
... also the dumping of a severed cow's head outside Penang (DAP) lawmaker RSN Rayer’s house in June 2014.
RSN Rayner |
I wonder what could have set about this, my perceived paradox?
Malay dislike for Chinese is steeped in economic envy and resentment. The lower-income Malays have been trained from the 1950's until now to believe that they remain poor because the Chinese have taken their rightful economic share away from them. It is UMNO's raison-d'tre.
ReplyDeleteThe sometimes crass, uncouth behaviour of Red-Neck Chinese and Astronaut-type Chinese only adds fuel to the fire.
Malay religious distrust of Hinduism arises from insecurity and denial of the deep roots that Hinduism has in traditional Malay culture.
Most Indonesians, on the other hand, are comfortable with their past heritage - their national symbol the Garuda is a creature from Hindu mythology.
Borobudur is celebrated, while Malaysia's Bujang valley - the most significant Hindu/Buddhist archeological remains in the Peninsular - is neglected and deemphasised.
re your "The sometimes crass, uncouth behaviour of Red-Neck Chinese and Astronaut-type Chinese only adds fuel to the fire". omigosh, were you criticising CK? Wakakaka
ReplyDeleteI think he is! But then that's his opinion le! Maybe hy's too!
DeleteIt MUST also be yrs too!
Wakakakaka.... A translation from a fame ancient philosopher - I have bouncing on stages like a clown. Who cares what the audiences feel/understand. I'm true to my life!
BTW, I have a theory concerning the running down & elimination of the Hinduism from the Melayu mindset.
It has to do with mamaks. Wakakaka...Not that mamak but those Indian Muslims.
Throughout the recorded (authenticated) Melayu history, mamaks played a very influential roles within the Malay community. Even now, in jibby's administration.
A close check of the past Malacca sultanate's documents (verified) would prove this point too.
Now, every mamak has a big bone to pick with Hinduism.
The caste system was/is the ultimate reason why there r so many mamak in India - conversion to islam was/is the ONLY way, the down&trodden bottom classes - the Shudras & the untouchables, could escape that irrational bondage of this Hindu life classification.
Thus these mamaks have a cultivated loathe for anything Hindu!
When these mamaks r been 'absorbed' into Melayu due to that unique world-first race definition, the meme-ed Hindu hatred works its toxin into the Melayu masses.
These mamaks want to act Melayu terlampau Melayu. They r the most aggressive, most vocal in all 'sensitivities' relating to the alifbata.
The infused Hinduism hatred has also created a psychological mind block to 'eliminate' all the Hindu pasts of the Malay cultures.
Such actions resonance especially well with the ketuanan freaks, the zombies & the blur-sotongs. Wakakakaka..That's almost 90% of the Melayu living today le!
Key examples r many of those vocal provocatuers in Penang/KL protest incidences. They r as Always mamaks leading the packs.
The Melayu tulin yang lama have a lackadaisical attitude towards everything, including islam! But the infusion of the mamak stock changes all that carefree worldviews.
Suddenly there is a role model who can say what they don't like to say, do what they don't like to do. It acts as a relief valve for all the penned up frustrations, unjust feeling & most of all that amok tendency.
Zakir Naik is one such example & that also explained why sometime even headed person like the Perlis mufti can be waylaid by such talk!
good postulation, but when you mentioned Suddenly there is a role model who can say what they don't like to say, do what they don't like to do. It acts as a relief valve for all the penned up frustrations, unjust feeling & most of all that amok tendency I was thinking of SOMEONE, not Zakir Naik, wakakaka
ReplyDeletep/s and do cut down on that "the ketuanan freaks, the zombies & the blur-sotongs", wakakaka
DeleteThat someone may have some influences on sopo issues.
DeleteBut to those......(wakakakaka)...his contribution on religion was only political not spiritual.
Like it or not, those…………(wakakakaka)…… r still ranking islam above everything else. Thus, the huge following of these zombie-ism snake oil sellers of dubious qualification, even though they might have graduated from some doomed state's theology degrees!
Split-tongue zakir is a master in stirring religious sentiment & those…………(wakakakaka)…… r buying his lot-stock-&-barrel wholesale & more le!
P/s give that mamak a miss. I have a feeling this time round, he has the good of bolihland in his heart.
Don't buy yr sifu's dynasty trash lah.
Mom is now a deranged evil writer, capable to invent ANYTHING just to feed his ego & kpi le!
http://www.financetwitter.com/2018/02/its-razak-not-mahathir-who-makes-malays-incompetent-lazy-handicapped.html
Yr bedtime reading to adjust yr worldview……wakakakaka...
But "the ketuanan freaks, the zombies & the blur-sotongs" fit these BTN-ised deplorables to the T !! Why need to 'reinvent the wheel' when such such coinage did the job admirably ? I back the continued usage of such fitting description...well done CK !
