Mahathir's heart and soul always in UMNO

Malaysiakini - Save tears on Rafizi’s jailing, it was Dr M who destroyed the judiciary (extracts):

“Furthermore, Dr Mahathir should be reminded… that he single-handed destroyed the independence, impartiality and professionalism not only of the judiciary, but also of other important national institutions like the police, the Election Commission, the anti-corruption agency, and the civil service.”

- Lim Kit Siang, February 2015

In this post I won't discuss on what Mahathir did to the judiciary or about poor Rafizi Ramli - Maybe next time wakakaka.

I am more interested in the following extracts of the article written by Karamjit Gill:

The gibberish excuse Harapan leaders give today is that they are using Mahathir to win the Malay support and Mahathir is only there to take Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak down.

Is Mahathir really there only to take Najib down, and will he be willing to step down thereafter? Although it is proclaimed so by the opposition and apparently agreed upon by Mahathir behind closed doors, do any of Mahathir’s actions say the same?

Mahathir intends to recreate another Proton to possibly make more cronies rich, but says Pakatan will do so if they form the government despite Lim Kit Siang saying numerous times in the past that Malaysia should not be venturing into the automotive industry.

Will Lim suddenly change his stand now if Mahathir decides to make him a crony supplier to the so-called new Proton? Lim’s silence to Mahathir’s intentions is deafening.

Most recently, Mahathir says he needs a couple of years to supposedly correct the current government’s wrongdoings.

Wait a minute. Two years as prime minister and nobody from Harapan is saying anything? What happened to getting a royal pardon for Anwar Ibrahim and vacating the seat?

Are you going to argue and say that the entire process will take at least two years and therefore Mahathir will be prime minister till then? Will Mahathirism be allowed to continue with all the supposed agreements thrown out of the window, only for him to come and say sorry later once again?

Two years would be more than enough for Mahathir to ensure his son moves up the political ladder as he envisions.

It seems like a no-brainer that Mahathir will eventually rejoin Umno.

Mahathir quit Umno citing disgust to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. His war was not against Umno. He was against Badawi. Once Badawi quit, Mahathir and his wife happily rejoined Umno in 2009.

Upon rejoining Umno, Mahathir said, “Although I was out of Umno, my heart and soul were in Umno.” Be assured that Mahathir’s soul is still with Umno. His war is against Najib.

By the slimmest chance, if Mahathir does become prime minister and he is pushed for resignation, he will take his loyal sycophants and rejoin Umno with his teary wife, probably expressing affection for Umno again.

Then what will Harapan do? Call for another street demonstration? And flak condemnation towards Mahathir with another U-turn?

History tells us that street demonstrations with Mahathir at the helm will never be as peaceful as when Najib is at the top. Water cannons, physical abuse and arrests would be in abundance. Why should we Malaysians be used as political pawns when the Harapan keep messing up and shooting themselves in the foot?

I have personally written many times that Mahathir (like Anwar and Azmin Ali) will rejoin UMNO once he is in a position to do so.

"... in a position to do so." Now, what does this mean?

Say Pakatan wins GE14 - If Mahathir and his Pribumi wins enough seats which combined with losing UMNO's seats (plus some from like-minded political parties, eg. PAS, PKR etc) to make a total of 112 or more, then he will be "... in a position to do so."

Karamjit pointed out Mahathir's history of leaving UMNO out of anger at the PM in power (AAB), and then, after the PM has left, rejoining his old party with his “Although I was out of Umno, my heart and soul were in Umno.”

So when Najib has been disposed of after GE14, guess what Mahathir will do, given that his heart and soul were in Umno?

See my post Mahathir's legacy - a Greater Pribumi?.

Mahathir is not, has never been concerned about reforms - stop dreaming of the impossible, stop believing in the sun rising from the West, or Donald Trump winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

In fact Mahathir is the very reason why reforms in Malaysian politics are badly needed. How will he be the solution when he has been the problem.

Mahathir is in Pakatan only because he just wants his son Mukhriz to be PM one day. That's why he's gunning for Najib, and he needs Pakatan as a platform and a weapon to do so.

Lim Kit Siang thinks he can control Mahathir even if Pakatan Harapan wins GE14, but can he control, say, an UMNO that will then be on the losing side?

You may bet that if UMNO loses but still have a respectable number of seats to make it look attractive to Pribumi or PKR, it will do the wooing.

Lim Kit Siang then won't be able to stop Pribumi, UMNO or even PKR from gravitating towards each other. Power and material rewards are strong attractive forces.

I always thought that should be the straw that finally broke DAP's back? LKS and his commanders/soldiers are exterminating the wrong person/party, indeed. Now, let's wait what would happen when the straw finally breaks UMNO Malay's back? So far, it is cool, no extreme action has been taken whatsoever. Even, Anwar will be a free man soon.

    6. I'm not so active on netsphere cuz I find any sensible discussion rapidly spiral downwards to nonsense when the name calling starts. Its liken a kindergarten argument. When kids can't beat each other up, they will start insulting each other. When reverting to such immature and crude method, how can an adult still call him/herself a adult?

I digress, so can you be specific which blog is it?

    7. Another loopies question!

An essay reflects the characters & styles of the writer.

The propagated idea comes later as an encapsulated formulation of thought via those signature patterns.

So many a time a writer CAN be identified by those signature patterns even when a different acronym is been used.

But, why should I want to teach you wordsmith 101?

      Enough said lah.
