Personal anger & destructive meanness towards Rakyat

MM Online - Most ‘controversial’ Chinese projects not really controversial, says UM economist:

Professor Edmund Terence Gomez

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 — The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government red flagged projects like the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and Penang undersea tunnel because of the link local private companies had with the previous Barisan Nasional (BN) administration, an economist told a forum today.

Professor Edmund Terence Gomez from the economics and administration faculty of Universiti Malaya said most of these projects sanctioned by the previous BN government were, in fact, beneficial and could boost the economy.

“The problem of these projects are that they are clouded with political controversies and if you remove that, you will see the strong flow of opportunity and business growth for the people here,” he said when speaking at the Malaysia-China Smart Silk Road Forum.

Lau Zheng Zhou, a senior director at Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS), said Chinese projects in Malaysia should be viewed as a boost in helping the nation prepare for Industry 4.0.

“Chinese companies are not here to steal our businesses, but here to help us go up.

“If you look at Forest City, it is so advanced there and we should learn from their technology there to apply in other projects within the manufacturing sector,” he said, referring to a property project in Johor
.

The economic truth and benefit to the rakyat of Malaysia are now revealed by both Professor Edmund Terence Gomez (UM) and Lau Zheng Zhou (Director CPPS), that projects contracted during Najib's premiership have been actually good and beneficial to the rakyat.

But they were initially cancelled and then "frozen" because "someone" was either furious at Najib (and thus his projects) or plain jealous of Jibby he himself hasn't been the author of those beneficial projects, ...

how dare you call me a macai when I have been assigned oversight of Tabung Harapan and Red Files

... like the BR1M which he has now adopted but re-named Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat (job done for him by macai Guan Eng) - for more, see Star Online's Guan Eng: BR1M to be renamed, next payout to be made before Hari Raya.

Isn't that "someone" vindictive (towards Najib) and destructive (towards the rakyat Malaysia) just to satisfy his conceit, ego, pride, vanity and personal anger?

  1. Lau Zheng Zhou (Director CPPS)...Wakaka....in China, there is near Zero room for independent criticism of Communist Party-backed initiatives.....so you will not ever get to hear a CCPS academic to say an officially China sanctioned project as "Not Beneficial".

I don't blame the "Academics" ...that's just how it works.

  2. Professor Edmund Terence Gomez ....could you please explain to us what is the ROIC ...return on invested capital of the East Coast Rail ?

What is the future Nett Projected Cash Flow of ECRL ? And I mean NETT, after Netting off loan repayments.

The numbers I have seen so far are NEGATIVE.
Sometimes, it is necessary to carry out a Negative ROIC project because of projected Social benefits.

What is the Social Benefit of the high cost ECRL ?

  5. Of course everyone knows all the joint China projects are good intentions by China based on uplifting countries along the OBOR Silk Road initiative with even easy funding and loans provided by China Banks.

The problem is when corrupt Govts. hitched a ride thru local crony companies JVs and thus ballooning the costs and easy financing provided and making arrangements of payments to cover up misdeeds of money laundering and corruption.

China companies which colluded with local JV companies in these types of scams ought to be tried and shot in China even though it may involve their highest officials and leaders.

What benefits does the country obtain finally when it ended up with overpriced projects and loans to be repaid by the future generations of the country due to such malpractices and collusions?

Ethically and morally wrong when these projects involve closing one eye and collusion in defrauding the recipient country and its citizens.
