    KUALA LUMPUR: Petron Malaysia
Refining & Marketing Bhd has categorically stated that Mirzan Mahathir does not own any shares nor does he have any role in the company.

Petron Malaysia, which is part of Petron Corporation of the Philippines, had on Wednesday issued the statement after a shareholder raised the issue at its recent AGM.

Petron Malaysia's parent company is Petron Corporation and the ultimate holding company, San Miguel Corporation.

It clarified that Mirzan is a board member of Petron Corporation, adding that he was elected as a director on Aug 13, 2010 and holds 1,000 shares.

Prior to the directorship in Petron Corporation, the company added Mirzan was a director of San Miguel Corp for a brief period from Sept 1, 2009 until April 15, 2010.

"He currently holds 5,000 San Miguel shares. San Miguel Corporation has a total of 3.3 billion shares listed on the Philippines Stock Exchange," it said.

  3. No big deal. Good for Govt. and the more the better for the convenience of Govt. workers.

Petron is a late comer to be sanctioned as a Govt. fuel supplier. There's also Petronas, Shell etc.

  6. I don't see what is the problem.

This is in addition to existing Petronas and Shell stations.

When Petron bought ExxonMobil Malaysia's retail operations , it included the 3rd largest network of petrol stations in the country.

Bear in mind government vehicle operations include small towns and rural areas, where petrol stations, any station, can be few and far between. If you ever found yourself driving outside of an urban area, with the low petrol warning light blinking, you will know what I mean.

Cha Bor, just like his sifu MOM, just blindly Hentam, Hentam, and Hentam.

    1. Petronas is our national company so its given and acceptable. Shell came thru open tender and no political links. Petron is so linked with Mirzan and thus Mahathir's daddykasi once more, now that is the problem. Both Shell and Petronas complements each other, Shell stations being more numerous in cities and Petronas vice versa in outskirts and kampungs. What does Petron bring other than LPG cooking gas tongs? Is the Government fleet going to use them to power their vehicles like forklifts?
