Rafizi dismisses minister's denial, says will prove ties with 'wife' Zainab
PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has dismissed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Abdul Latiff Ahmad’s denial of marital ties with a woman said to control two offshore companies linked to the RM6 billion littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal.
Rafizi described Latiff’s two-liner statement responding to the former’s allegations based on purported papers from an internal probe on the LCS as a “very weak denial”.
“I had revealed names of companies, the exact amounts involved and the (purported) links with him.
“I also included the specific paragraph in the LCS internal probe that stated Zainab Mohd Salleh as his wife.
“He only denied that Zainab is his wife, citing viral media reports,” said Rafizi.
Not the same Zainab
Earlier today, Rafizi cited LCS internal probe papers that purportedly named the companies - Alizes Marine and Alizes Marine Labuan - as well as millions of ringgits in payments billed for services not rendered.
Contrary to the woman behind the two companies, Rafizi said another Zainab Mohd Salleh - chief financial officer of Dialog Group - has been falsely implicated in the scandal.
“When Latiff referred to ‘viral news’, there are many possibilities as to the meaning of his statement, including that he is not the husband of Dialog Group’s CFO (which we all know).
“Tomorrow, I will reveal specific documents that link Latiff with an individual named Zainab Mohd Salleh who is the owner of Alizes Marine,” he said.
“InsyaAllah it will be clear why the internal probe report named Latiff as the spouse to Zainab Mohd Salleh,” he said.

Responding to queries, Dialog Group in a statement confirmed that the company’s CFO has been falsely accused of being Latiff’s wife and of being involved in the LCS scandal.
“We wish to alert the public that our group CFO and joint company secretary (Zainab) has been falsely identified as a shareholder of Alizes Marine Ltd.
“(Dialog Group’s Zainab) is the spouse of Dr Noor Azmi Mat Adenan, a consultant gynaecologist-oncologist at Ara Damansara Medical Centre,” it said.
Meanwhile, Rafizi also urged his supporters to remain calm, pointing out how his past major exposes in the past had ended up being prosecuted in court.
Earlier today, Rafizi had accused Latiff and Zainab of being “big sharks” profiting from the LCS project via offshore companies appointed as project consultants despite being unqualified for the position.
Rafizi said Latiff, now with Bersatu, was at the time an Umno deputy defence minister, while Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi led the ministry.

While it is good that Rafizi is exposing the LCS scandal, I hope he has taken the necessary precautions regarding his personal and family safety.
ReplyDeleteIf Altantuya could be blown up with C4 it is not beyond our imagination that those feeling the heat of being exposed may resort to violence in their desperation.
The PDRM should provide some form of protection eg parking a police car at his family home or arrange regular drive-bys.
Anwar and the rest of PH should take this safety issue seriously.
Is 小二 legal in bolihland, even under the zombieic dogma of 4 wives?
