Arumugum's resignation - what's the real story?

UPDATE: 10 Feb 2009 @ 10:01 am

From Malaysiakini Arumugam quits, by-election in Bkt Selambau

Hmmm, could it be that Aru read my post and changed his mind about hanging on as an ADUN wakakaka

I won't go into Aru's real (personal not political) reason for his resignation as I don't intend to discuss his personal 'difficulties' - if you're interested, go over to Malaysian Insider for more, which also quoted Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak as saying: "Arumugam told him [HRH Sultan of Kedah] that he was relinquishing the post due to personal reasons and that it has nothing to do with the Pas leadership."

Suffice to say, his position as a politician became politically untenable due to his 'personal' issues.

****************

Malaysiakini - Arumugam quits exco post, remains state rep.

Bloke claims he was threatened by BN to switch – humongous pressure - first made that accusation after the recent Perak froggie imbroglio.

Question: Why not make his accusation much earlier? Why wait until Anwar was under pressure for the PKR Perak debable and most embarrassing of all, his pitiful premature eulogy of Nasarudin Hashim’s defection as reflecting “... the sentiments of his voters, namely the Malays in his constituency ... as the beginning of a new wave.”

Wakakaka

... and then there’s that implausible RM50 million man too - wakakaka again ...

... they seemed to all emerge at the same time from some decaying woodpiles the moment Anwar was in deep embarrassment. Alamak, one Gobala (of the phantom bus fame) is already one Tok Ampu too many lah wakakaka

Arumugam claimed he couldn’t tahan the pressure from BN for him to jump across, so ….?

Yes, so one would imagine that he would want to resign completely from politics.

But in Star Online PKR state training bureau chairman Zambri Yusuf said:

“Arumugam has decided to quit his position as an exco due to the mounting pressure on him and his family to defect to Barisan Nasional.”

And Malaysiakini confirmed he had resigned only as an exco, but will continue as Bukit Selambau state assemblyperson.

Now, how the f* is that half pregnant resignation going to help relieve the BN pressure off him? Afterall, if BN wants him, they would only be interested in his position as an ADUN, not as an exco.

His story is totally implausible!

… as implausible as the Bala story!

One doesn’t expect every politician to be as courageous as Karpal Singh, but if an ADUN cannot even take the alleged pressure from the other side, then Aru should resign from politics altogether – his constituency would be better off with a representative of more sterling qualities.

But I smell other stuff ..... wakakaka.

  3. I have said it before that Anwar is the father of all evils in Pakatan Rakyat, and I also have said it before that Karpal Singh is the only opposition leader who walks his talks and still has balls. Other have already surrendered theirs to Anwar.

Karpal was right that Anwar should be REPLACED. But who listen? Poor Karpal.....

  4. Thanks bro. I'm happy to find balanced, well thought and informed views on blogs like yours and Ktemoc.

It's funny to see such one sided romanticism and blind biasness, even ignorance festering away on blogs like Malaysia Today and even sometimes on MagickRiver. You can find some one sided crap here:
    http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/17854/84/

Clearly these people are not in touch with what is going on among the neutral middle, and even have evil and manipulative intentions - to create blindness and loss of clarity.

Liars! all of them. You think they really care about the people, good governance, democracy, change and the poor? They must have a lot to gain and win personally.

I have my own evidence, that clearly shows that Raja Petra is also a biased Anwar and PKR symphatizer.

I find it funny that Mkini which tends to print even some of the most sensationalist and baseless accusations against BN, has not said anything about Arumugam's immoral, illegal and unethical "extra curricular" activities.

It is indeed funny that someone who spoke so loud about so called "kidnap" attempts and "bribery" now has gone into hiding. Is this the mark of the quality of PR candidates ? What is shocking that hese candidates had less than a year to adminin the state and yet get embroiled into so many scandals. Imagine giving them 50 years like BN, we might end up having a Islamic Republic ala Afghanistan or Myanmar where the main source of income if narco trade and other criminal activities. In fact some PKR and DAP people would support this as it will allow them to take 4 wives (I am sure Arumugam would).

RPK: Anwar, Kit Siang and Hadi should quit

PORT KLANG: Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has called for the resignations of three senior Opposition leaders for the loss of the Perak Pakatan Rakyat government to Barisan Nasional.

Pakatan de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang and PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang should resign and accept collective responsibility for the loss, he said at a Chap Goh Mei celebration at the Kuan Soon temple grounds in Pandamaran here.

When asked whether it was a leadership crisis, he said it was just bad leadership, with bad decisions and the three senior politicians were out of touch with the people on the ground.

“It is time for them to stop the blame game. Move aside and give the position to the younger generation that are more able.”

Typical of PR's twisted thinking. OK to engage in sodomy, adultery, bribery and intimidation as long as you are on the side of PR.

Don't be too sure, Arumugam was likely asked to resign than by voluntarily. We should have seen it coming when he started that Bollywood drama last week about "threats", "bribes" and "kidnaps attempts"....

  12. How could Arumugam hop over to BN when he will have to resign also . Very most likely as Killer said , ASKED to resign or probably letter typed for him to sign .

    anonymous 10:17
If he had done nothing wrong , do you think he would resign from that job ? high paying , prestigious , with car and driver , with power ? ?
Why do you think initially he only wanted to resign his exco position only ? and keep his seat ?
Very obvious isn't it ? He has to resign because he took a second wife without divorcing his first wife .
