KUALA LUMPUR – Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun blew his top after opposition MPs continuously questioned the controversial two-day suspension issued against Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (Pasir Salak-BN).

The brief shouting match followed Azhar’s ruling that Deputy Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon’s suspension order against Tajuddin stands.

Addressing the lower House today, Azhar lashed out against various MPs who repeatedly demanded for their grouses on the matter to be heard.

“I have been fair (on the issue). If you do not like my ruling, then you can file for a review. Do not accuse me of protecting (any party). I have heard you out,” he said.

Appearing to reach the end of his patience, he then banged his gavel once before shouting: “Do you want to go out now?! I am not here to answer your questions!”

You all MUST understand Art is now a BIG-TIMER, having rubbed shoulders with American House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Wah, BIG-SHOT loh!

Malay Mail reported (extracts only):

Both Nancy and I hope that with this visit, specifically between the Malaysian Parliament and the US House of Representatives, our relations can be taken to the next level, and we have reached an agreement to keep an open line between our two Houses,” he said.

Nancy !!! And glory be. Art is also on first name basis with the Washington Witch, wakakaka.

  2. Whatever you may say about him, Art at least (rare among Malaysians) understood that Malaysia's National Interest needs to have friendly relations with Washington, just as much with Beijing.

So smooth and respectful diplomatic talk it is with Nancy.
