Environment minister still blaming victims but what's the problem when he said M'sia doesn't suffer from climate change

Environment minister says people don’t heed weather warnings - report

Environment and Water Minister Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has reportedly said that people have failed to heed the government’s weather warnings because they were under the impression that floods only occur on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

As a result, when floods hit areas beyond the east coast last week, they were unprepared to face it.

However, checks by Malaysiakini found that very little warning was given before the floods occurred.

  1. Yup, the weather warnings only emerged AFTER the severe rains had already occurred.

    That's not a forecast.

But ...but... strict Islamists don't engage in forecasts...

Just like gambling , it's a form of playing probabilities in defiance of Allah's will.

You may warn others based on actual occurrences, but , strictly by Islamist principles, it is Haram to forecast.

  2. Preventive precaution vs cumulative forecast - which is which?

Precautions r implemented based on past occurrences & experiences.

Scientific forecasts r based on collected cumulative data over a perid of timeframe.

Just liken to weather & climate. Think about it this way: Climate is what you expect, weather is what you get.

Weather reflects short-term conditions of the atmosphere while climate is the average daily weather for an extended period of time at a certain location.

So where r the haram part comes into play?
