“Start with yourselves:” Netizens say after PAS leader calls for Gov’t to be “caned”
YESTERDAY, PAS treasurer Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad said that the Government needs to [be] “caned” if they transgress in order to keep them in check.
In his view, it was akin to when parents cane their children when the latter misbehaves, so as to ensure they grow up to become good and responsible people.
“It’s the same with the Government. We love the administration and want it to remain in power but that doesn’t mean we should keep quiet all the time.
“Therefore, we must ‘cane’ them from time to time to ensure they remain a good Government,” he said in his comment via HarakahDaily, in his capacity as the Research Centre for The Advancement of the Community and Housing (REACH) chief coordinator.
Netizens concurred with the PAS veteran’s views and urged the latter to start “caning” his own party members first.
(Go and cane the PAS clerics in the Government. They don’t work and get paid for nothing. (Do you) have the guts to do it? No point talking big using your party mouth piece when nothing is happening!)
User Anua Othman echoed M.Azam’s sentiments saying:
(Not only they deserve ‘caning’ but also thrown out and blacklisted from nomination)
Many quarters, including their own supporters, are now getting weary of PAS as the party is seen to be too engrossed in playing politics in the feud between UMNO and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
It seems that PAS itself is now divided between the pro-UMNO and pro-Bersatu factions. However, PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang had stressed that the Islamist party would be loyal to the Perikatan Nasional Government led by Bersatu.
The party also seems to be at a lost on how to convince Putrajaya to hand over oil royalty payments to Kelantan and Terengganu, where its base lies, despite being part of the federal administration.
Oil royalty issues
PAS’ inability to get back oil royalty payment for the two states did not escape public scrutiny, with former Kota Bharu MP Datuk Zaid Ibrahim making a public call for 14 courageous Kelantanese to contest in the next general election to champion the cause.
On that note, user Fireflyyy opined that Iskandar’s statement could be due to PAS’ inability to get back the oil royalty payment.
However, netizen SST retorted:
(They will not know how to appreciate it. They will start shopping and get more wives instead).- Dec 18, 2021
The gall of the man!
ReplyDeleteTruly, truly typical of a PAS holier-than-thou idiot.
Glad to read some of the comments which give hope that not everybody is blinded by this hypocrisy.
