SEREMBAN: Negeri Sembilan police have confirmed receiving two reports of sexual assault involving a freelance preacher in Selangor.
Police have arrested a 40-year-old man, who is being held in remand until Sept 14 for investigations.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Ruslan Khalid said the new reports were lodged by two 17-year-olds this month in Seremban.
“Currently, we are carrying out a parallel investigation with Selangor police. We are completing the investigation paper and it will be submitted to Bukit Aman first before being referred to the deputy public prosecutor,” he said in a statement today.
Ruslan advised the public against making any speculation regarding the incident, as this could jeopardise the investigation and cause public confusion.
Yesterday, Selangor police chief Arjunaidi Mohamed said four reports related to the case were received on Aug 30, two in Klang Selatan, one in Shah Alam and another in Kajang.
Investigations showed that the man knew the four victims, aged between 17 and 18, after getting acquainted with them through motivational programmes around Selangor.
