Some stubborn drivers are still trying to pass through Jalan Aring 8-Kenyir-Kuala Jeneris near Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu, despite the road being partially collapsed, putting their lives at risk.

This has forced the public works department to completely block off the road with concrete barriers to prevent motorists from using the road, despite clear road closure signs being posted, Bernama reported.

Hulu Terengganu police chief Zainul Mujahidin Mat Yudin expects the road, which collapsed following a landslide affecting a 100m stretch, to remain closed for some time to allow for repairs.

A video of a four-wheel drive vehicle trying to pass through the road, going precariously close to the edge of the collapsed area, has gone viral.

  1. I was travelling back from Penang back to KL this past Sunday. Since it was announced that the Peninsular West Coast Expressway was opened to traffice, I decided to try it out to see what kind of experience will be.

Exiting at PLUS NSE Changkat Jering, it was a short link between the PLUS toll plaza and the ramp to the newer WCE. The journey was pleasant. Traffic was minimal, which helps in driver concentration and safety.

However, the toll highway had to come to a stop just after the Sitiawan exit. Thereafter, it was the existing National Route 5 with dual lanes each direction, getting past the paddy field of lower central Perak and Teluk Intan area.

After a short section of toll road, at Teluk Intan, had to used the route 5 again, from Sabak Betnam heading towards Tanjung Karang, Kuala Selangor and Klang direction, which was still agreeable dual lane per direction despite the heavier traffic, until a super misadventure some few kilometers outside of Tg Karang where the bumper to bumper crawl was really unbelievable. It took around one hour and thirty of fourty minutes to arrive at a point where the culprit was a traffic light junction.

Since it was late and phone with out battery, decided to following along until the Kuala Selangor turn off to Ijok, Sungai Buloh road, which was somewhat familiar. And since it was already, sundown, the road was rather dark, increasing driver risk due to more vehicles on the road and driver fatigue.

Not long after, there was the turn off to LATAR Highway, in shich the signboard ibdicated going to KL, which a chouce to make to get back to more familiar in order to reach home.

LATAR was a dual lane carriageway and dark at night, with lighted area only at toll plaza and exit junction.

There were a lot of motocycylists as well, and in the light of the headlamp, one could make many of the motorcyclists are doing their superman ride in the highway in the dark.

Yes, there is one or more every moment.

    Those pesky hormone...!!!

After some quick thinking following the signboards, managed to reach fsmiliar road to reach home, after some seven hours departing from Penang Island.

It is a risk taken and the reward was, WCE has some years to go to relieve the heavy traffic burden of the NSE Northern route either direction.
