Eric See-To: Siti Mastura’s RM825k is chicken feed compared to legal damages inflicted on DAP, Rafizi

IN what can perhaps be described as ‘counter shame’, former Barisan Nasional (BN) strategic communication deputy director Datuk Eric See-To has come to PAS’ defence after the latter launched a “jihad donation” drive to fund the RM825,000 in legal damages incurred by Kepala Batas MP Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad.

This came about after DAP having slammed PAS’s fundraising campaign to settle its first-term lawmaker’s recent defamation suit loss against its powerful trio of Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng and Teresa Kok as “an attempt by PAS to normalise defamation”.

Fitnah merupakan dosa besar. Fitnah adalah dilarang oleh agama Islam. Tapi sekarang ada sebuah parti politik yg menunggang ugama Islam mengutip derma untuk mempertahankan dosa FITNAH. Saya memang tak faham. Apakah komen anda? 🤦🏻‍♂️

In a Facebook post which has become viral after being picked up by numerous pro-opposition cybertroopers including Ratu Naga, See-To who was exposed by Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli as the person behind “Lim Sian See” has recalled the following legal cases that DAP/Pakatan Harapan (PH) has lost since 2016:

DAP kata tindakan PAS kutip derma untuk bantu Ahli Parlimen PAS bagi melunaskan kekalahan saman fitnah RM850k kepada DAP adalah cubaan PAS untuk normalisasi fitnah.

Tapi...

2016: DAP collected RM1 mil in public donation to pay bail Guan Eng’s (currently the party’s chairman) bungalow corruption case.

2017: Rafizi collected RM1.5 mil in public donation which was over five times the RM300,000 he had been ordered to pay in damages and costs related to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) suit against him.

2020: DAP collected RM2.9 mil in its week-long fundraiser in solidarity with former finance minister Guan Eng who needed to settle a RM1 mil bail over the Penang undersea tunnel project.

2022: DAP collected RM350,000 in public donation to settle Tony Pua (former Damansara MP) and Yeo Bee Yin’s (Puchong MP) defamation suit loss to former MCA vice-president Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

2023: DAP collected RM2.25 mil in public donations to pay RM2 mil in damages incurred by Lim Lip Eng (Kepong MP) after he was found liable for making defamatory statements against businesswoman Jessy Lai and her company.

“So, is this also an attempt by DAP and PH (Pakatan Harapan) to normalise slander and corruption?” wondered See-To.

“I also don’t quite understand this logic. You said PAS is not the same as DAP because PAS shouldn’t slander in the name of religion. Does this then mean that DAP is free to slander at any time and that slandering (someone) is normal and halal for them?” – Dec 27, 2024
