Selangor PKR chides PAS for embarassing pro-Najib rally
RECENTLY Selangor Pakatan Harapan Information Chief Abbas Azmi criticised PAS for planning a rally supporting jailed former Prime Minister Najib Razak, saying it is an act of desperation.
“PAS is so desperate they want to hold a rally for Bossku. When Haji Hadi Awang went to court, there wasn’t any rally for the PAS president.
“Don’t be so obvious about your desperation. It’s embarrassing,” he said on Facebook.
The rally, scheduled for Jan 6, has an agenda that includes solat hajat (special prayers) and aims to highlight constitutional integrity and the rule of law.
A PAS memo has gone viral, urging members to hold a “Solidarity with Najib Razak” rally on January 6, 2025, at the Court of Appeal, Putrajaya.
“Ensure the presence of our members to send a clear signal to the Madani government led by PMX about the sanctity of the Constitution and the rule of law demanded by the people,” the memo stated.
Muafakat Nasional Chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa supported the call, emphasising solidarity for the imprisoned former Prime Minister.
UMNO, a member of the Madani Government that also includes the Parti Keadilan Rakyat, and PAS members are set to turn up for a rally in support of Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Jan 6.
The rally is set to coincide with the Court of Appeal’s hearing regarding an alleged royal addendum that could permit the jailed former prime minister to complete his prison sentence under house arrest. —Dec 29, 2024
