Flood Victims Hit 150,000 – But Bersatu Only Dreams About Power Whilst PAS Wants To Turn Disaster Into Tourist Attraction

An annual disaster, Malaysia flooding this year has forced 150,000 people (and counting)out of their homes across the country, with at least 4 fatalities – surpassing the worst floods in the country recorded in 2014, which saw 118,000 displaced. The flooding, which began earlier in the week, has forced the National Disaster Management Agency to set up 679 emergency shelters for victims.

As usual, the worst affected state is Kelantan, which has recorded more than 97,000 victims, followed by Terengganu with about 40,000 victims. Both states, along with Kedah and Perlis under the opposition PAS Islamist party rule are the worst affected. Other states affected are Selangor, Perak, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan. The number could rise, as heavy rain and storm warnings remain in place.

Videos shows cars and houses submerged, and people wading through waist-deep water, as thousands of emergency services personnel have been deployed to help rescue people stranded. Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi said rescue boats, four-wheel-drive vehicles and even helicopters have been mobilized to rescue tasks and deliver food supplies. But what has the Opposition Perikatan Nasional done so far?

Struggling to keep Bersatu in one piece since losing power post- November 2022 General Election, former backdoor Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is still busy rallying party members with wet dreams that they could return to power. Rather than helping flood victims, the Bersatu president was foaming at the mouth vowing to lead the party until it regains control of the Iron Throne in the next 16th General Election.

Yes, while the nation of 34 million in the Southeast Asia faces the annual floods, the top leadership along with a thousand delegates of Bersatu (Malaysian United Indigenous Party) were in the comfort of air-conditioned attending party AGM at Ideal Convention Centre in Shah Alam, Selangor. In comparison, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s party – PKR (People’s Justice Party) – had postponed its national congress amid flood crisis.

Facing internal revolt and power struggle, Bersatu – formed by power-hungry Malay leaders formerly from UMNO – is on the brink of extinction if it does not snatch power soon. Admitting that party members are turning against one another, Muhyiddin reminded – and begged – them to stay united. Laughably, the “Father of Traitors” claims Bersatu is the party of hope for both the people and the nation.

At its 7th Annual General Assembly (AGM), Muhyiddin, who retained his presidency in a formula that prohibited contests for top-5 positions, was trying to project unity even with two of his top lieutenants, Hamzah and Azmin, in sombre mood. Hamzah Zainuddin was promoted from secretary-general to deputy president after Ahmad Faisal Azumu had been forced to surrender the post and demoted to vice president.

Azmin Ali, the biggest traitor of PKR who defected and betrayed his own party in the infamous “Sheraton Move” in March 2020, leading to the collapse of democratically-elected Pakatan Harapan government, has shamelessly accepted the role of Bersatu secretary-general left by rival Hamzah, even though he had initially rejected the low-ranking post to avoid humiliation.

Internal power struggle was not confined to Bersatu though. Within the Perikatan Nasional coalition, Bersatu and Islamist party PAS similarly do not see eye-to-eye, hence the absence of PAS top leadership during Bersatu’s AGM. Once like brothers, both Malay-Muslim political parties are now fighting for the position of the “poster boy” for the 16th General Election.

Despite Bersatu’s insistence that its president Muhyiddin would remain prime ministerial candidate, Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) disagrees. PAS spiritual leader, Hashim Jasin, has argued that the coalition’s prime ministerial candidate should come from the Islamist party itself. That’s because PAS possesses 43 parliamentary seats compared to Bersatu’s 25, not to mention PAS has stronger grassroots and machinery.

The bad blood between PAS and Bersatu isn’t going to subside anytime soon. Having emerged as the single biggest party in the country and controlling four states for the first time in history, PAS is dreaming big of ruling the entire nation. Led by Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS has no reason to share its resources with parasite Bersatu. Even if Bersatu is allowed to ride along, the prime minister post must be PAS’.

Racist bigot Muhyiddin, however, isn’t giving up. He now suggests that all Bumiputera non-governmental organisations (NGOs) should come together under one roof, just like how the United Chinese School Committees Association or Dong Zong represents the various Chinese groups. However, Dong Zong was established to safeguard and develop Chinese education, not politics.

Clearly, the Bersatu president, who still feels humiliated for being overthrown after just 17 months in power, was trying to hoodwink gullible Malay Muslims that they are under threat from the minority ethnic Chinese. By making Dong Zong as the punching bag, Muhyiddin hopes to justify his relevance and to divert attention from Bersatu’s internal problem, as well as intra-problem between Bersatu and PAS.

Hilariously, Bersatu was crying wolf about party’s accounts being frozen by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over corruption and money laundering, yet was able to raise more than RM330,000 for the luxurious AGM at a time when flood victims – mostly Malays – needed assistance the most. But Muhyiddin and his lemmings were not the only one absence from flood area.

Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, supposedly PAS’ poster boy for the prime minister post, was similarly nowhere to be found when the flood victims need his help. But that was not even the best part. The best part was when a PAS politician of Kelantan state government suggested turning the monsoon season into a tourist attraction.

Exactly how could the Islamist party capitalize on the people’s suffering and turn it into a business is beyond comprehension. Kamarudin Md Nor, chairman of Kelantan Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee, said it would be a jolly good idea to promote surfing in the flooded muddy waters. The genius PAS leader also suggested promoting traditional delicacies “exclusive” to the monsoon season.

It would be easier for Elon Musk to send a SpaceX rocket to the space to promote tourism to Aliens with McDonald’s cheeseburger than for PAS morons to attract tourists with food prepared using flood water carrying diseases. Even Kedah Chief Minister Sanusi, notorious for his toxic mouth, had to flee after his palace was flooded. Did Kamarudin really think tourists are stupid?

The Islamist party does not appear to understand that floods are disasters that cause loss of lives and destruction of property. Perhaps he has been watching too much Baywatch where lifeguards wearing bikinis were ready to save surfers riding on the waves. But even if surfing in muddy waters is interesting, will Kelantan PAS allow Pamela Anderson or Yasmine Bleeth flaunt their assets there?

In case the out of touch PAS politician hadn’t a clue, the favourite food during floods are white bread and instant noodle, and certainly not chicken boiled in muddy soup. There’s a reason why Kelantan is deserted during the monsoon season. It’s called common sense. If stupidity can be exchanged for cash, Kelantan would have been the richest kingdom on planet Earth. Kelantanese should be ashamed of such leaders.

Instead of attracting either local or foreign direct investments, the PAS government has been turning Kelantan’s forest into fast cash – logging and saw-milling like crazy without any study or concern for consequence. They don’t care that illegal and excessive logging contributes to deadly floods because they knew the brainwashed Kelantan people will vote for them come rain or shine.

The Chairman of Kelantan Tourism, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee is a classic example why Malaysia is toast if PAS takes over the country. Back in Dec 2021, Halimah Ali, another clueless PAS politician, blasted a shocking tweet – people should be grateful that “only a few people had died” in the flood, and told people to stop “maksiat” (vices) and minimize “sins”.

Her tweet suggested that the flood and deaths were due to vices and sins committed by the people in all the 8 states in the Peninsula Malaysia. The clown didn’t realize that Kelantan, the state under the Islamist party’s rule almost uninterrupted since 1959, has been hit by flooding almost every year. Does that mean the God was angry because the people of Kelantan and the Islamic government of PAS have continuously committed endless vices?

Likewise, Bersatu was more interested in playing politics rather than helping victims during the Dec 2021 flooding when then-Youth and Sports Minister Ahmad Faizal Azumu was wasting time and money holding a ceremony to launch volunteer squad while thousands of victims were stranded waiting for help. And who can forget Doraemon Rina Harun – wearing high heels – using a water jet to clean an already clean drain in a PR stunt turned disaster.

    Menteri Pendidikan Bebal‼️

    Bebal, benak, bangang!
