PAS’ “hypocrisy of the highest degree” exposed with party suddenly fighting for Najib’s freedom

PAS’ “hypocrisy of the highest degree” exposed with party suddenly fighting for Najib’s freedom

ONE wonders if there is a conspiracy of some sort towards the eventual unification of PAS and UMNO for the sake of Malay unity given the Islamist party has given its official green light to its members to come out in full force to participate in the “Solidarity with Najib Razak” rally on Jan 6

As the internal memo by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan on mobilising PAS members to attend the rally at the Court of Appeal compound in Putrajaya went viral, Pakatan Harapan (PH) backers have ridiculed PAS for its U-turn given it was instrumental in putting the former premier behind bars during the Perikatan Nasional (PN) reign.

Some reaction can be gauged from the social media post by #UMNONow (@UMNONow) which thanked PAS for its so-called goodwill gesture.

Terima kasih PAS. #justice4NajibRazak

As a commenter is dumbfounded as to how Najib is able to get PAS on his side, a few others vividly recalled that it was PAS alongside its ally Bersatu who “threw Najib in jail in the first place”.

As one commenter observed that PAS “is attempting to win UMNO’s heart”, another described as “very hypocritical” point No. 3 in Takiyuddin’s statement which highlighted that “the presence of PAS members would serve as a signal to the Madani government on the supremacy of the constitution and rule of law demanded by the rakyat”.

One commenter went on to share a statement by the then eighth premier Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also the PN chairman “who expressed relief that the Federal Court has affirmed Najib conviction” on all seven charges and the sentence imposed.

This led to one commenter describing PAS as a “political pro*tit*te” while another advised UMNO not to be easily conned by PAS “who was responsible to throw Najib in prison”.

In a related development, one certainly cannot help to be fascinated by Malaysian politics as Free Malaysia Today has cited Bersatu’s Wanita chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin as stating that Bersatu members will not be prevented from participating in the ‘Solidarity with Najib” rally.

Contending that the rally was in line with the principle of upholding the rule of law and the Federal Constitution, the Masjid Tamah MP said if the addendum order really exists, “it needs to be upheld and implemented by the Madani government as this is part of our country’s legal process that has been enshrined for a long time”.

At the end of the day, one commenter hit the nail on the head that PAS (even Bersatu) would do anything just to win the Malay votes. – Dec 29, 2024

  1. Najib is now hero of all Malays.
Only Harapan DAP and a few fringe liberal Malays object to his release scot free
