The more Hadi speaks, the better for us, says Amanah No 2

Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub has accused PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang of considering himself ‘holier than thou’.

SEREMBAN: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s recent statements have only served to benefit Amanah, says its deputy president Salahuddin Ayub.

In a speech at the Wanita Amanah convention, Salahuddin accused the PAS leader of considering himself “holier than thou”, while others were deemed “dirty and disgusting”.

“The more the PAS president speaks, the better for us. If we could, we would pay him to talk all the time,” he jibed, without elaborating on specific statements from Hadi.

The Pulai MP said he had hoped that Hadi would work on strengthening the good values in the Malay community, but lamented that Hadi had instead brought about a culture of calling others infidels.

Yesterday, Hadi said PAS rejected working with Pakatan Harapan as it was a coalition full of those “without beliefs and morals” and that it “gathers groups of bribe givers and bribe receivers”.

However, Hadi did not provide any proof to back his claim that there were those in PH who were involved in corruption.

In response, PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said former PAS leaders such as the late Nik Aziz Nik Mat and Fadzil Noor had views which differed from Hadi’s.

Describing PAS now as a “different party”, Anwar also pointed out that Hadi had labelled other party members as infidels in the past, referring to when he branded Umno members as such.

Meanwhile, Salahuddin also gave an assurance that Amanah’s women’s wing will get more opportunities to be fielded as candidates in the next general election, whether for state or parliamentary seats.

  1. Never underestimate the strength of Holy Hadi 's following.

  2. PH should come out to strongly state that it cannot work with PAS because of PAS' racist stance.

PH should also condemn Hadi for his insensitive statements against other races and religions.
