PAS sets 40 MPs target in GE15, eyes PM post in the long term

ALOR SETAR: PAS has set a goal of winning at least 40 parliamentary seats in the next general election (GE15), says its vice-president Nik Mohd Amar Abdullah.

Nik Mohd Amar Abdullah.However, he said, the long-term goal is to have a majority that will allow its candidate to become the prime minister.
“While PAS’ 18 parliamentary seats (in GE14) were commendable, doubling the number is possible, given the performance of PAS in three states where we currently hold the majority,” he said at the launch of the party’s election machinery here last night.
Nik Mohd Amar gave the example of Kedah, where “tens of billions” in investments poured in just a year after PAS assumed power in March 2020.
“Even the prime minister acknowledged that Kedah has garnered tens of billions in a short time. What does this mean? These are just three states.
“If we were to take over the federal government, what would happen? A PAS prime minister would definitely outdo the performance in the three states,” he said.
“I believe that a PAS leader will become prime minister one day.”
Aside from Kedah, PAS controls the state administration in Kelantan and Terengganu.

ReplyDeleteThe reality is Kulim Hi Tech is part of Penang's Industrial ecosystem, particularly in the STEM sector.
A key reason Intel, Siemens, Micron, etc. are there because it is conveniently close to Penang's core of supporting industries and trained personnel.
Now, the Kedah PAS government is actively hostile towards Penang, instead of cultivating cooperation in the interest of economic growth.
