Hadi looks at DAP, asks why can't non-Muslim wing get Chinese support

PAS MUKTAMAR | PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said today there is no reason the party should fail to garner support from non-Muslims, pointing to DAP's record of electing Indian MPs in Chinese-majority seats.

Hadi, in his speech to adjourn the PAS 68th annual muktamar held at the Kedah PAS Complex in Kota Sarang Semut this weekend, said PAS has broken the first barrier with the formation of its Non-Muslim Supporters Wing (DHPP).

"Of late we manage to break through the barrier that separates us and the non-Muslims, through DHPP.

"That is our (PAS’) success. But the role (to get support) must also include non-Muslims.

"If the DAP can elect an Indian MP in a Chinese-majority area, then why can't we get the Chinese to support us in an election?

"Why can't we penetrate their areas?" asked the Marang MP.

As such, Hadi said the DHPP should address its weaknesses to penetrate barriers separating Muslim and non-Muslim supporters.

DHPP was officially formed on May 23, 2010, while the party was still in an alliance with PKR and DAP - both multi-racial parties - under then Pakatan Rakyat that formed governments in Selangor and Penang.

DHPP chief N Balasubramaniam previously said that the wing - with 62,768 members - is eyeing three parliamentary seats and 12 state seats to represent the party in the forthcoming 15th general election.

  1. Hadi and PAS should consider themselves lucky to even have the non-muslim supporters wing supporting the extremist party.

Hadi and PAS must be congratulated for being able to con 62,768 non-muslims to support the party.

To those 62,768 non-muslim supporters of PAS, good luck to your blind stupidity. Just pray you do not get the chance to see the true face of this bigotted and racist party.
