KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Opposition MP Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman tonight declared that he would choose to go to court instead of joining the ruling coalition Perikatan Nasional.

His team had tonight notified the media that he has been summoned to be present at the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning following an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

In a brief message about his court appearance tomorrow, Syed Saddiq on Twitter wrote that the truth will always prevail.

“Berani kerana benar. It is in moments like this that I am reminded why I joined Politics. Truth will always prevail.

“Saya lebih rela masuk mahkamah dari masuk Perikatan Nasional. Bring it on!” he said in the tweet, with the sentence in Malay roughly meaning that he would rather go to court than join Perikatan Nasional.

In the same tweet, Syed Saddiq included a brief video clip where he claimed to have been threatened multiple times with prosecution in court if he refused to join Perikatan Nasional.

“It’s already been more than a year I was threatened to be charged if I do not join Perikatan Nasional.

“Each time there is an important vote in Parliament, the threats will come - in July, December, January and now a week before Parliament sit,” he said in the clip measuring 53 seconds.

  1. Why nobody charge Jibby for keeping millions of UMNO cash, undeclared to ROS, in his house?

PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Umno is seeking to recover party funds seized by police from residential units linked to former prime minister Najib Razak.

Malaysia's biggest political party claimed that the money was being transferred to Umno's acting leadership after Datuk Seri Najib had resigned.

The cash in various currencies seized from apartments linked to Mr Najib at the Pavilion Residences in Kuala Lumpur last week has reached nearly RM130 million (S$43.8 million) as investigators finally concluded the counting task.

  3. If this weren't deadly serious real, it would have sounded like a script line from one of the Star Wars movies... "Join the Evil Empire... or you will be destroyed".....
