Zaid Ibrahim to Education Minister: “If you can’t do your job properly, just resign.”
DATUK Mohd Zaid Ibrahim believes that Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin needs to resign if he cannot execute his professional duties properly.
The former minister was criticising the lack of foresight and proper planning when it comes to the country’s education system during Radzi’s tenure as the minister in charge of the Malaysia’s education portfolio.
“If he cannot do his job properly, he should just resign,” he said in a video statement on his Facebook page.
Zaid further questioned the rationale behind Radzi’s latest announcement that schools will reopen in stages for physical teaching and learning session from Sept 1 and sought the minister’s clarification on the fact that it would be done ‘in stages’.
“Priority will be given to those who are sitting for their examinations, but other levels of learning are equally important. Why aren’t schools open to all students?” he asked.
According to Zaid, some students are still struggling with Teaching and Learning at Home (PdPR) due to the lack of access to online classes.
He said that 12,000 of the 150,000 laptops that the Government had promised to students from B40 families were distributed last month under the Cerdik initiative, with the rest to be distributed in September.
“Why wait until September if schools will be opened in stages by then? Students need the laptops for their online classes now,” he stressed.
Zaid also questioned the fact that there are many teachers who have yet to be vaccinated.
“We have about 500,000 teachers nationwide, and they should be vaccinated as soon as possible to make it safe for the students to return to school.”
Last Saturday, the MOE stated that a total of 253,366 teachers and administrators (61.30%) and 10,876 support staff (46.33%) had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. – July 19, 2021
Zaid forgot that the PM was himself a former Education Minister.
ReplyDeleteProbably by the PM's personal standards (which are absmally low), Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin is doing a good job.
Oftentimes this Zahid spit out towards heacen and then opened his mouth to swallow his own spittle gleefully. Was he that smart when he was the Minister? Many just didn't know his existence and the only case he was known was when he filed injunctions against the Kelantan State government intention to implement the Hudud Law in the state. Other than that, he is a nonentity.
ReplyDeleteBoth Education Minister Radzi Jidin and the Deputy Mah Hang Song are Senators. Not elected. Both Must Go.
ReplyDeleteyou better re-checked the parliamentary status of Radzi Jidin, that is, if you had checked that in the first place
