Well, in Malaysia we also have a King Minus (not Midas). Everything that King Minus touched would turn into sh*t, stuff like Forex, Perwaja, BMF, Maminco, Makuwasa, Proton, MAS, Crooked Bridge, etc and now, his own bakery.
For more, see the Star Online's Dr M's bakery bistro The Loaf closes after 12 years in business (extracts):
PETALING JAYA: Lifestyle bakery and bistro The Loaf, owned by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, is shutting down after 12 years in business.
Financial advisory and restructuring provider Ferrier Hodgson's liquidator, Andrew Heng, said the owners of the bakery have chosen to wind down the business.
"They are closing down all 12 outlets in the country," he told The Star on Friday (April 13).
The Loaf is run by M&M Consolidated Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Dr Mahathir and Motoko Resources Sdn Bhd. Dr Mahathir holds a 51% stake in the company.
Heng said the owners of the business felt that it was not possible to continue the business following losses for the past few years.
"Basically it was not possible (to continue). There are just too many similar types of businesses and competitors. They are not doing good enough for profit," he said.

Adios The Loaf.
perhaps King Minus should downsize to my style? |
could it be mahathir dun have a jho low, n he manage his business with good ethics, tak curi tak rombak unlike that hmmm...
ReplyDeletecould be, very good ethics in forex, maminco-makuwasa etc - the alleged lost billions were never lost and can be found in Andromeda Galaxy
Deletei think mahathir never deny no loss, unlike yr najib 1mdb, no audited acct until today.
DeleteEven good ethics can't make a product good. If it sucks, nobody will come buy. Period.
Deletelike psm?
DeleteIts all about the marketing nowadays. And PSM had sucks marketing compared to JJPakatan.
DeletePretty straightforward and transparent case
ReplyDeleteBusiness opened, made some money over some years.
Eventually , Increasing competition , rising costs, Change in customer preference, whatever ... so business eventually closes down.
No involvement with fake Arab donors, fake bank accounts, fake front companies , fake investments. Money laundering , Siphoning Government funds etc.
You forgot the moral of this story, KT. Even when Midas touch turns anything to gold, eventually it comes back to bite him in the arse. For Minus, it bites him both in the arse and balls. Hohoho!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree The Black Cobra (TDM) is losing his Midas touch after the last sucessful act of kicking out TAB (Hailam PM).
ReplyDeleteAgainst Ahjibkor, he has already failed in :
1. Doing it via a No Confidence vote in Parliament.
2. Doing it within his own UMNO party.
Now that he can't succeed via the above, the only option left is during PRU14. The failed Midas touch saga continues.
1. Fail to register his party PPBM (Bersatu) with ROS.
2. Fail to get Pakatan Harapan registered as a coalition.
Would sure like to know whether he could really trigger a Malay tsunami and thus a Malaysian tsunami as hoped for by PH.
I still think Karma will come into play when he finally delivers but the joy will be shortlived.
badawi only out after he lost (not win enough) the election, umno warlord oso fully support him b4 the election, so mahathir best chance is still election.
Deletei dun really understand the malay psyche :
1) if malay r like ck theory wrt chinese under ccp, which believe (ck said one) ccp is the only viable option, then the malay tsunami probability is low.
2) or the malay (n some other) believe ph is 2x5, then malay tsunami oso wont happen, everything remain 2x5, the stupid horde can declare their spiritual victory.
3) if the malay believe our vote can change the course, can dictate the direction, perhaps malay tsunami would happen.
mahathir is a politician, if he can win without the race n religion rhetoric, perhaps he would change the way how politics is engaged in msia from ge14 onwards.
mahathir is a ketuanan leopard
DeleteSo what? I just want najib to die politically. I want u to fuck off. Can?
DeletePlease don't twist my words with CCP vis-a-vis the psyche of blur-sotongs, ketuanan freaks & zombies!
DeleteWhatsoever u understood about CCP ke, the failed Melayu ke, ARE yr own limited interpretations under whatsoever circumstances u created for yrself!
I demand an apology from a shallow tunnel crawler of whatsoever idealism!
Grrrrr……
What is so unusual about businesses going bust in Malaysia. Perhaps the one you greatly admired is responsible for the GST torpedoed economy we are in today?
ReplyDeleteToys'R'Us just went bust in whole of USA.
DeleteAdidas's reducing their bricks and mortar stores.
Tesco UK's moving towards online order & delivery to survive.
Nokia was King not long ago but now's a pale shadow of itself.
Are these the hallmarks of a bad economy or burden of taxation? Big fat NO!
Lifestyles has changed, and so must business as well or perish into history. Malaysian businesses aren't immune to this phenomena. Unfortunately Malaysians have taken the easy way out of whinging their follies on other people instead of adapting and surviving.
