Always the same old spectres are brought up and it’s not surprising, really, that so many Malaysians are apathetic about politics. “Aiya, why botherlah, nothing ever changes.”
That’s the thing about change. Voters tend to be overidealistic in this country, forgetting that election promises are just that — promises. Sugared words from various sides to entice voters.
Delivering on said promises is not a sure thing, nor an instant thing.
People often vote for themselves but the reality about change and advocacy is that you need to remember, always — the change you fight for might not be realised in your lifetime. Most people don’t want that — they want massive reforms overnight and get disappointed when promises don’t translate into instant realities.

Words of wisdom from so young a sweetie.
Yes, it's boring to see the same cast every time, old fogies like Mahathir, Lim Kit Siang, Hadi Awang, Ong Ka Chuan, Najib, etc, but Anwar Ibrahim is currently missing on the line-up for GE14 or he would be another one. Also, Ku Li is not in it, thank goodness.
It seems the only party with fresher faces is MIC, wakakaka.
But the most succinct message Erna Mahyuni has for us is the last paragraph above, to wit:
People often vote for themselves but the reality about change and advocacy is that you need to remember, always — the change you fight for might not be realised in your lifetime. Most people don’t want that — they want massive reforms overnight and get disappointed when promises don’t translate into instant realities.
Many of the voters, especially the younger ones, expect instant delivery of promises made by pollies and overnight changes to the political status quo.
Some even made extreme demands and expectations, like "It's now or never" and "Our last chance", etc etc etc.
Rubbish, Malaysian politics will continue on for years and years and years ....., even until people like LKS, LGE, Dr Ramasamy, Najib, Ahmad Zahid, Azmin etc disappeared.
Should Pakatan Harapan win GE14, our younger voters will be deeply disappointed when Big-Mouth LKS does not deliver on his so-called bull of "Every wrong will be kow-tim-ed within 100 days".
Yes, he may, for example, remove the GST but can he guarantee the substitute tax system won't be far more expensive? I doubt it, but anyway, be wary that such populist but mindless changes won't disadvantage you more.
As Erna wisely advised, you need to remember, always — the change you fight for might not be realised in your lifetime.
out of the frying pan into the fire is used to describe the situation of moving or getting from a supposedly bad or difficult situation to a far worse one |

A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't take the first step, the journey will never take place at all.
that's OK and to be encouraged but the expectations are unrealistic
DeleteSo what! I just wanna see najib die politically. I wanna see najib apprehended and die in prison. Not happy hah.....kaytee
DeleteI feel 爽 seeing kaytee vomit blood while seeing najib full humilation
Can kaytee?
Orang2 muda makan fastfood, mee segera & what have they, itu pasal semua mau faiti faiti, nak kaya pun mau cepat2, they want all those happened yesterday. Jin nabi sulaiman pun cannot deliver.
ReplyDeletei think erna is referring boy like u. u r one that seem so upset wakaka.
ReplyDelete1) "such populist but mindless changes won't disadvantage you more"
ReplyDeleteWakakakaka…… ada investigate about the causality of the the Greece financial meltdown ke?
Look no further than a bloated civil servants setup with enticing salaries/retirement benefits aka pinklips' current offerings!
2) " you need to remember, always — the change you fight for might not be realised in your lifetime."
An usual jingoistic poster-script for idealist who r daydreaming!
Nobody, absolutely nobody fights for what they want immediately. It's always for the future, for the kids! Even the zombies r fighting for a 'better' afterlife!
Wakakakaka……
Wah!....kaytee can say such words....things cannot realised. Lagi lagi must tui lam najib. Then we go tangkap kaytee. Then only i feel 爽
DeleteMe think, the first 100 days if PH wins will be used up fighting over who gets what posts.
ReplyDeleteThen followed by another 100 days of retribution on their political opponents and little Napoleons in Govt.
Then the Black Cobra rears it's Fangs and strikes friends and foes alike, leaving him as Numero Uno once again.
The only difference is that Sg Buloh will now have more occupants besides AI.
Does it matter? As if u have the choice. Me simply boh care liao. Watch furious....the russian film
DeleteThe ending scent is epic. Batu khan die die must kneel before this gallant russian knight.
You go be 岳不群 la.....ask kaytee to join u
Dont know who he is....ask ck
He terms himself a Nostradamus namesake!
DeleteIf he is that good, no need anyone to tell him WHO'S 岳不群 lah.
Otherwise, have to doggy-bag his prophecy on himself.
You mean something like an Operation Cold Store to eliminate rivals.
DeleteHowever, it is predicted that if Pakatan wins, they will by only a few seats and if "Black Cobra" eliminates his former comrades, there go their seats in parliament as well, thus leaving BN, now in opposition, with the majority of voting seats and able to block whatever bills the government side moves.
The country staggers on, rudedrless, then the Pakatan government eventually falls, fresh elections are called and BN most likely wins.
Cinakui balik Tiongsun
DeleteBlack Cobra balik UMNO Baru-er, wakakaka
Hallelujah, we're back to 1981
The same scare tactics were predicted for disaster in Selangor and Penang in 2008.... It did NOT happen.
DeleteU people analyse WRONGLY!
DeleteWhen mamak takes over, he will FIRST actively persuade ANY actions, legal or otherwise, to send pinklips/hippos & their bunch of sycophants to a paid holiday in bamboo villa.
Those actions WOULD be overwhelmingly supported within his cohorts.
The removals of the pinklips' gang will create by elections to fill the empty seats. Those seats will easily sapu by ph, as now ph has the right to the election machinery!
After that, most likely within 2 yrs, mamak retired whether he likes it or not.
The new bolihland politikus game begins with new players, new themes MINUS umno - that bigoted hive of sopo hyennas.
Good? Bad? Who knows! But one thing for sure - definitely NOT in the direction driven by umno.
KT can nationalize his Oz or for sure!
Wakakakaka……
didn't it happen in 1969 for the Malay anxiety about Selangor?
DeleteAh so......like I say....fuck you la kaytee....we will wanna make it happen whether you love it or not
DeleteGo fuck back to australia......I want najib die politically die.....can? Hahahahaha
CK....This type of fella must put ultimatum just like what churchill did to the french after french government capitulated. This time, I propose just obliterate the entire kaytee moc clan just like what the ancinent chinamen did in the past
One key lesson of 1969 is that IF there is to be a revolt against the Ruling UMNO Regime, it must be credibly multi-racial inclusive of Malays.
Delete2008 had a different outcome from 1969 very much because Malays had a stake in it, through PAS and PKR.
This time PAS is in cahoots with UMNO, but Mahathir is on-board.
So... no fear ...Opposition Non voters.....vote without fear.
Why got no teloq to say May13¿
DeleteI think this is an option pinklips is seriously pondering!
"Every wrong will be kow-tim-ed within 100 days"! Did LKS really said that? Please share the link to prove so that I can f* him or did you put words in his mouth again?
ReplyDeletehttps://blog.limkitsiang.com/category/pakatan-harapan/
DeleteAny new government or new management team for a business enterprise should have a first 100 days or basically 3-month plan.
ReplyDeleteFirst the quick and relatively painless steps, which the previous crew were unwilling to take, for ideological or policy reasons. This is important to keep momentum and to show stakeholders that you are serious.
Second, the harder part is to stake out the first steps (but will likely need more or much more than 100 days to complete) for substantive change.
Third the Really big changes, which will need a strategic plan and input from key stakeholders. Get the discussion going.
One of the major necessary steps is the de-UMNO-fication of Malaysian governing institutions , which are supposed to be run on professional and non-political basis, but are NOT currently.
Election Commission, Attorney General's Office, MCMC, Registrar Of Societies, ROC, Police senior ranks, Armed Forces senior ranks, etc. etc. ....
The list is long and daunting.
the de-UMNO-fication of Malaysian governing institutions?
DeleteI like that - let's start with the biggest Kahuna of all UMNO institution, namely Mahathir who conceived and infused UMNO Baru with his evil wicked doctrines of cronyism, patronisation, nepotism and useless Mega-ism
Ain't mamak doing now?
DeleteWhat r u smoking?
Kangaroo poo?
You are so full of "disbelieve" or is it hatred? for the mamak that you can't think out of the box, just one-track mind with all the prejudices, what if Tun doesn't turn out like you predicted ............. wakakaka
DeleteThe disease cannot even begin to be treated until UMNO is out of power.
DeleteMahathir is the bastard who can take on UMNO, whatever his motivations are.
Pointless to talk to this cheebye kaytee la. Time to be Mao Tze Tung. Just gun him down by hook or crook la
Delete
