KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 — Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman will be Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) Putrajaya candidate in the upcoming 14th general election, according to sources.
Abdul Rashid’s tenure as EC chairman was from 2000 and 2008, although he began working for the commission in 1979 as a secretary up until 1995.
His civil service career began in 1967, and included serving as the Public Services Commission assistant secretary in 1968 to 1969, Immigration Department senior assistant secretary from 1972 to 1975, Melaka Municipal Council secretary from 1975 to 1976, Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government deputy secretary-general from 1977 to 1979, and Education deputy secretary-general from 1995 to 1997.
Abdul Rashid was appointed vice-president of Malay rights group Perkasa in 2013, and is reported to have acknowledged that the three redelineation exercises under his tenure were aimed at continuing Malay political dominance.

This is the sort of candidate Pakatan is having, an ultra.
I wonder what the DAP will say about this PERKASA man being a Pakatan candidate and that, as a former Commissioner of EC, he acknowledged that the three redelineation exercises under his tenure were aimed at continuing Malay political dominance.
If Pakatan allows him to contest as a Pakatan candidate under its Blue Moon charter, then does Pakatan has any right to question the EC's re-delineation bullshit?
But I bet Lim Kit Siang will keep his mouth shut in exactly the same way as he has criticised MCA and Gerakan for aeons.
Pot calling kettle black, that's Lim Kit Siang.
What a f**king letdown that Pakatan has now gone to the dogs.
dei, are you from MCA or Gerakan? er ... no ... er, I'm orang tua yang mudah lupa |
“If they will show me evidence that the commission has rigged elections, then I will – in fact, all members of the commission – will resign". ~ Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman
ReplyDeleteonly a ultra can match a ultra in a ultra township. do dap have better candidate? karpal singh confused daughter?
ReplyDeleteDAP had previously fielded candidates that PKR had objections to.
ReplyDeleteDAP basically told them to Fuck Off. Because in Pakatan , partners have no veto power over other parties' choice of candidates.
The same rules apply here. But nothing to stop DAP from voicing objections if they deem it necessary.
If what the ex-EC Chief said is true and there is evidence he said that, then, he should be charged for abusing his powers and fraud under the Constitution for Electoral gerrymendering. Of course that depends on the AG, right?
ReplyDeleteIn the event, he wins the seat under PKR, i am quite sure the AG will charge him and cause another by-election.
What a waste of throwing away a Parliament seat like that. Might as well give to Hindraf or PSM.
Ku Nan is strong. Hadi also cannot win in Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya.
Deletehadi dun wan to win la, i supposed he won enough already by losing.
DeleteI am more interested about your fucking credentials lei.
