First public glimpse of Czech Republic-born Sultanah Kelantan

First public glimpse of Czech Republic-born Sultanah Kelantan

ONE-MONTH-AND-A-HALF after Sultan Muhammad V proclaimed her as the Kelantan Sultanah (on Aug 2), Sultanah Nur Diana Petra finally made her maiden appearance by receiving a visit by a group from the Pertubuhan Kerabat D’Raja Kelantan (PKDK) (Kelantan Royalty Body) at the Kubang Kerian State Palace.

The media unit of the Kelantan Sultan’s Office posted on its Facebook stating that the entourage was led by PKDK president Tengku Ramizan Tengku Abdul Aziz along with several members of the association.

Present to greet Sultanah Nur Diana were Tengku Sri Kelana D’ Raja Kelantan Datuk Seri Raja Rezza Shah, Tengku Kaya Perkasa Datuk Dr Tengku Mohamed Faziharudean Tengku Feissal and other Kelantan palace officials.

Sultanah Nur Diana also presented the group with souvenirs during their visit.

For the record, Sultan Muhammad V has made his second wife the Sultanah Kelantan, some three years after his marriage to a former Russian beauty queen ended in divorce and he stepped down as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Born as Yana Yakoubka in the Czech Republic, Sultanah Nur Diana wedded Sultan Muhammad V in September 2010 – the year he was appointed as the Kelantan Sultan and prior to assuming the role of deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong the following year.

Sultan Muhammad V has married Pattani royalty Tengku Zubaidah Tengku Zorudin in 2004 but divorced her in 2008.

After serving as deputy Yang di-Pertuan Agong for 13 years from December 2011 to December 2016, Sultan Muhammad V’s reign as Yang di-Pertuan Agong began.

In November 2018, it was reported that he had married former Miss Moscow Oxana Andreevna Voevodina (better known by her Muslim name and Instagram handle, Rihana Petra) in Russia.

The following year, a child was born to the couple, Tengku Ismail Leon Petra. However, media reports had highlighted doubts about the paternity of their child, with the matter even being brought to a Moscow court.

Amid all this, Sultan Muhammad abdicated from the throne in January 2019, three years before the end of his term. The unprecedented move was said to be prompted by criticism over his marriage to Oxana. – Sept 14, 2022

  2. New blood infusion urgently needed.

Otherwise, the faith of the European royal bloodlines follows as in Haemophilia figured prominently in their 19th and 20th centuries family links.

  3. From 1440 to 1918, nearly 500 years, the Hapsburgs were one of the world's most powerful Imperial families.

One key weakness was they kept marrying and producing heirs from blood relatives.

The bloodline slowly weakened with unhealthy, short lived heirs, until there were no more Imperial heirs.
