What Professor Dennis Etler said about China - Koon Yew Yin
All should read this article and circulate it to all your friends. As you know, the West especially US has been bashing China for no good reason and I have posted a few articles to defend China.
Professor Dennis Etler is an American political analyst who holds a doctorate in anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Anthropology is the study of what makes us human. Anthropologists take a broad approach to understanding the many different aspects of the human experience, which we call holism. They consider the past, through archaeology, to see how human groups lived hundreds or thousands of years ago and what was important to them.

Why is it that the West is so preoccupied with demonizing China? The usual answer is that China's economic growth is challenging Western global hegemony which has held sway for at least 250 years if not longer. The Chinese military has also reached parity with that of the West, so it is no longer subject to Western intimidation and bullying. All that is true, and sufficient reason for the West to want to savage China and portray it as the root of all evil.
But there is one other consideration that must be taken into account. It's not only China's economic prowess and military might that frightens the West, it is also China's success as a nation versus the West's failure.
Moreover, China has forged a society in which there is harmony between its different ethnicities in contrast to the systemic racism that characterizes Western society.

Western ruling elites and their media mouthpieces do not want to acknowledge the fact that China has eliminated extreme poverty while more and more of their own people descend into poverty. They do not want to admit that China has constructed a 21st century infrastructure while they lag far behind. They do not want to confront the fact that the Chinese people overwhelmingly support their government while people in the West have lost confidence in their own, they do not want to accept that China beat COVID-19 while they haven't, and finally they are loathed to accept the fact that a non-white nation has outperformed them and will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.
In order to deflect attention away from these truths the West has concocted a series of lies and slanders that allow them to deny Chinese reality. Instead of poverty alleviation the West imagines "genocide." Instead of the advances in HSR, EVs, alt-energy and e-commerce they focus on "IP theft," instead of a socioeconomic system that serves the people, they accuse China of forced labour and forced sterilizations. Instead of seeing China as defending its national sovereignty in the South China Sea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, it's called an aggressor.

All the China-bashing serves multiple purposes but one of the main reasons is to make sure that people in the West do not get to hear about or see what the real China is all about because if they did they may get ideas that the Western elites don't want them to have, such as socialism works for the betterment of the 99% while capitalism works primarily to enrich the 1%.
The reality is CCP's "ethnic harmony" is in reality Ketuanan Han.
ReplyDeleteU been to China, especially those minority races inhabited locations?
DeleteObviously u haven't!
Thus, this fart of syiok-sendiri.
I have never ever met a non-Han decision making official in China, government or private sector.
DeleteShows you how Racist is China society.
For all the propagandist demonisation of USA as a racist society, anyone who deals with USA government or private sector will often meet ethnic minority in decision making positions.
If u have never been to China proper how r u going to meet non-Han decision making official, government or private sector?
DeleteWakakakakaka…
Ooop…
U don't understand wall flowers ke? There r a plenty in uncle Sam & auntie pommie outfits, private & or official.
CCP warships have been shadowing Petronas and Shell drilling ships in Malaysian offshore waters for months.
ReplyDeleteIt is matter of time before CCP actively interdicts Malaysian oil exploration ships in Malaysian waters.
No doubt China lovers such as Koon Yew Yin will be siding with China.
Mfer, would u allow Bangla, rohingya to claim yr backyard?
DeleteAnswer.
Don't just fart with ad hominem chants!
120 km from Sarawak shoreline is China's backyard ?
DeleteKerbau Bullshit from Chinese Communist Party ball-carrier.
So proximity is yr f*cking claim!
DeleteYell that to the ICJ for awarding pulau batu (Pedra Branca) to the RedDot.
Old moneyed mfer, whose kerbau shit r u carrying?
Pedra Branc Ruling was based on Singapore having exercised continuous control on the islands for nearly 200 years without any evidence of official objection from Johor Sultanate / Malaya / Malaysia.
DeleteChina wants to kerbau about Mkng Dynasty pottery from shipwrecks.
Shipwrecks all the more shows China was just passing by - not exercise of residence.
Wakakakakaka….
DeleteAnother know-nothing blurred fart.
Where did u dig up this cesspool concentrate? Or u invented it itself!
China has never been quoting Ming dynasty pottery from shipwrecks as the proofs of SCS territorial ownership!
Besides, up to today there r NO ancient shipwrecks been found around the 'disputed' SCS territories!
There r many ancient navigation almanacs used by the ancient Chinese south sea fishermen, since the Tang dynasty, recording all those surrounding islands, islets, shoals & reefs used for resting & storm shelters.
《更路簿》, 《定罗经针位》《顺风得利》《水路簿》《注明东北海更路簿》《去西南沙的水路簿》《顺风相关》etc were the ancient almanacs written by the ancient fishermen of Hainan, Kwantung & Fujian via their blood-sweated maritime experiences in the SCS!
All those land masses had ancient Chinese names before the pommie maritime navigators claimed the finds.
Old moneyed mfer, do more of yr cesspool concentrate lah. Maybe there might be some new alternate finds than all those regurgitated farts u people r so used to!
It's called Free Press Koon. The western media are free to criticise anyone, even their own gomen, just ask Trump.
ReplyDeleteBut in 5000 yo Bullyland it is different, just ask Apple Daily/Jimmy Lai.
Free press?
DeleteGet Daily/Jimmy Lai to do likewise in Germany about Hitler.
Or get Daily/Jimmy Lai to do so in US/UK about their untouchables & see the tons of litigations cut the paper/him to nothingness.
See the difference?
Bet, u won't. Bcoz when that opportunities arise, mfers, like u & Apple Daily/Jimmy Lai would toe the lines & acting miao-miao-ly purring!
Just ask Apple Daily/Jimmy Lai ?
DeleteThat rotten Apple closed voluntarily due to frozen funds and half of its staff resigned. That rotten Apple wasn't even banned even at the height of the terrorist attacks of the cockroaches in Hong Kong in 2019.
There's no need to ask that Fuckery Lai...he had been arrested and charged for sedition under the NSL. Hopefully new charges are proffered as 14 months' sentence is hilarious for this traitor.
That's why you are TongSampah...eating garbage and spewing back the same garbage. By the by, if the Western media is so free in the US as you claimed, why is Trump ostracised and cut off from his right to freedom of speech ? Ask Facebook, Twitter.....
And of course, whistleblowers like Assange and Snowden put their lives at risk to uncover the truth in the US
It's called Free Press Koon. The Western Media freely criticised the Viet Nam war, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. Nobody shut them down.
ReplyDeleteBut 5000 yo Bullyland will silence any local press that say anything negative about Mao's Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution or his sapot for the ruthless and murderous Pol Pot of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s that resulted in the slaughter of 2 million civilians, including thousands of ethnic Chinese.

How Red China Supported the Brutal Khmer Rouge
James Burke
January 28, 2018
The brutal Khmer Rouge regime ruled Cambodia from 1975-1979, and during that time they were aided by communist China.
Under leader Pol Pot, the Chinese-armed Khmer Rouge overthrew the country in 1975, and after they took the capital Phnom Penh, they immediately ordered its evacuation.
Some 2 million people were sent out into rural areas and an estimated 20,000 died on the roads. Those who didn’t want to leave the city – such as the old and sick – were simply killed.
The emptying of Cambodia’s cities was a part of the Khmer Rouge’s goal to reeducate the population and create their version of an ideal state — a communal agrarian utopia renamed Democratic Kampuchea.
Those who opposed their ideals were wiped out, and society was violently altered. The traditional family structure was abolished, as was money, religions, schools, and nearly all personal freedoms, among other things.
As they attempted to turn the country back to the Year Zero, the regime killed up to a quarter of the population (2 million people). As part of that, violent purges targeted certain groups, including ethnic Chinese.
In his book The Pol Pot Regime, academic Ben Kiernan wrote that out of a population of 430,000 ethnic Chinese in 1975, only about 215,000 survived the regime, reported the Cambodia Daily.
Despite this, the Chinese Communist Party was the Khmer Rouge’s main benefactor before, during, and after it came to power in Cambodia.
Andrew Mertha, director of the China and Asia-Pacific Studies program at Cornell University, told The New York Times that China provided at least 90 percent of the foreign aid — including military equipment and advisers — given to the Khmer Rouge, including during times that the killings were at their worst.
“Without China’s assistance, the Khmer Rouge regime would not have lasted a week,” Mertha said.

Regurgitated lies!
DeleteDeng Xiaoping openly criticised Mao's Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution. Many press reports published that news!
Thr ruthless and murderous Pol Pot of the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s was the result of the Yankee interventions of Indochina. China had zilch role in the rise of pol pot. & Non interference of other country's domestic politics had NEVER been exercised by China since it's foundation in 49.
Blurred mfer, do more yr selective c&p trashes lah. U need them to ease yr bored ego.
You better update Wikipedia then, citing your more reliable sources. Ayam too lazy.

Cambodian genocide
The Cambodian genocide was the systematic persecution and killing of Cambodians by the Khmer Rouge under the leadership of Communist Party general secretary Pol Pot, who radically pushed Cambodia towards communism. It resulted in the deaths of 1.5 to 2 million people from 1975 to 1979, nearly a quarter of Cambodia's 1975 population (7.8 million).
Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge had long been supported by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and CCP Chairman Mao Zedong; it is estimated that at least 90% of the foreign aid which the Khmer Rouge received came from China, and in 1975 alone, at least US$1 billion in interest-free economic and military aid came from China. After it seized power in April 1975, the Khmer Rouge wanted to turn the country into a socialist agrarian republic, founded on the policies of ultra-Maoism and influenced by the Cultural Revolution. Pol Pot and other Khmer Rouge officials met with Mao in Beijing in June 1975, receiving approval and advice, while high-ranking CCP officials such as CCP Politburo Standing Committee member Zhang Chunqiao later visited Cambodia to offer help. To fulfill its goals, the Khmer Rouge emptied the cities and forced Cambodians to relocate to labor camps in the countryside, where mass executions, forced labor, physical abuse, malnutrition, and disease were rampant. In 1976, the Khmer Rouge renamed the country Democratic Kampuchea.
The massacres ended when the Vietnamese military invaded in 1978 and toppled the Khmer Rouge regime. By January 1979, 1.5 to 2 million people had died due to the Khmer Rouge's policies, including 200,000–300,000 Chinese Cambodians, 90,000 Muslims, and 20,000 Vietnamese Cambodians. 20,000 people passed through the Security Prison 21, one of the 196 prisons the Khmer Rouge operated, and only seven adults survived. The prisoners were taken to the Killing Fields, where they were executed often with pickaxes, to save bullets and buried in mass graves. Abduction and indoctrination of children was widespread, and many were persuaded or forced to commit atrocities. As of 2009, the Documentation Center of Cambodia has mapped 23,745 mass graves containing approximately 1.3 million suspected victims of execution. Direct execution is believed to account for up to 60% of the genocide's death toll, with other victims succumbing to starvation, exhaustion, or disease.

While I have no love for countries like the US, I recognise that they can help maintain some balance vis-a-vis China.
ReplyDeleteTo me, we in this region must be wary of the arisen dragon. No other country can or dares challenge China militarily. Thus, their brazen behaviour in the South China Sea which they claim almost entirely as their own.
The counterweight is, unfortunately, the USA and other Western nations. This despite the bad record of the Western countries as colonisers in history. And China certainly has not forgotten past humiliation she suffered.
We must look to the future to realise China rising is not necessarily good for the region.
"US, I recognise that they can help maintain some balance vis-a-vis China"
DeleteHas China 'invades' any other countries yet? Non expansionism IS the declared policy of the China!
Uncle Sam once been invited into the house WOULD forever bring chaos, wars & sufferings to the locals - as proven so many times on recorded history. Yet u so gangho-lly wanted to play host!
Too much meme-ed shadow of been a colony in yr wet dream, perhaps?
"Thus, their brazen behaviour in the South China Sea which they claim almost entirely as their own."
Mfer, u DON'T know anything about SCS dispute & yet too keen to fart!
"We must look to the future to realise China rising is not necessarily good for the region."

Yr future, as a genuflecting Yankee asslicker, no?
