Taliban to US - thanks Yanks for your tanks

Taliban Gains Ground Fast in Afghanistan: Seizes Large Caches of American Arms

July-4th-2021

Taliban Insurgent

As the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan comes close to its 20th anniversary, Washington has set the date as a deadline for withdrawing all American forces from the Central Asian country as part of a broader effort to rebalance its military attentions to focus more on East Asia.

As the presence of Western forces in the country has diminished, the Afghan National Army has increasingly shown signs of disintegrating, with some soldiers defecting to neighbouring countries for protection while other units have abandoned equipment or even sold it on to the Taliban.

This has resulted in a rapid increase in the Taliban’s firepower, with morale so poor among government forces that entire battalions of soldiers have disbanded of their own accord in anticipation of Kabul’s fall to the insurgents. Estimates by Forbes indicate that Taliban insurgents have acquired 715 Humvees and other light trucks and dozens of armoured vehicles and heavy artillery systems in the past few weeks alone. These claims have been supported by images of Afghan security forces surrendering large quantities of weapons and equipment to the Taliban.

Humvee Leads U.S. Army Convoy, but in teh Americans' obscene haste of cabut-ing from Afghanistan, will soon be "gifted" to the Talibans, wakakaka

While a fall of Kabul to the Taliban remains a significant possibility, it is unlikely that a Taliban-led government would be able to sustain a military comparable to that of the U.S.-backed Afghan government for a number of reasons. A lack of technicians or other trained personnel to maintain existing equipment in the medium-long term is one key factor. Another is the fact that American-built vehicles, for example the Afghan government’s 25,000 Humvees, require a great deal of fuel which the post-war government is unlikely to be willing or able to afford. Spare parts will also be an issue, with the government having relied on Western support which will end if Kabul changes hands.

The fate of post-war Afghanistan remains uncertain, with the Taliban’s rule expected to potentially be challenged by the Islamic State terror group. Former president Hamid Karzai has accused Western countries of supporting the terror group in Afghanistan for the purpose of destabilising neighbouring countries such as Iran and China - which both have borders with Afghanistan.

China, for its part, maintained relatively positive ties with the Taliban preceding its removal from power in 2001, and has criticised the U.S.’ “hasty withdrawal” for having “dealt a serious blow to the peace process” and “negatively affected regional stability.”

Afghanistan was formerly one of the most developed countries in the region in the 1970s, although Western, Pakistani and Arab support for a radical Islamist insurgency from 1979 resulted in over 40 years of war and retardation of social and economic progress by several decades.

2011 - United States: The United States deployed a naval force of 11 ships, including the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge, the amphibious transport dock USS Ponce, the guided-missile destroyers USS Barry and USS Stout, the nuclear attack submarines USS Providence and USS Scranton, the cruise missile submarine USS Florida and the amphibious command ship USS Mount Whitney. Additionally, A-10 ground-attack aircraft, two B-1B bombers, three Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, AV-8B Harrier II jump-jets, EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft, P-3 Orions, and both McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle and F-16 fighters were involved in action over Libya. U-2 reconnaissance aircraft were stationed on Cyprus. On 18 March, two AC-130Us arrived at RAF Mildenhall as well as additional tanker aircraft. On 24 March 2 E-8Cs operated from Naval Station Rota Spain, which indicated an increase of ground attacks. An undisclosed number of CIA operatives were said to be in Libya to gather intelligence for airstrikes and make contacts with rebels. The US also used MQ-1 Predator UAVs to strike targets in Libya on 23 April

2015 - Since November 2015, the United States and allies have carried out a large series of both airstrikes and drone strikes to assist Libya in its revived conflict in support of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord against the ISIL presence in the region.

  3. The Yanks have placed GPS chips on the tanks and Humvees so can easily locate the Taliban’s hideouts in future. Same technology as satellite phones. Even Huawei can do.

Tanks need shells to be useful. The yanks didn’t leave any shells. And without the logistics of fuel supply the tanks can’t go far.

If after 20 years of NATO and US sapot the Afghans cannot learn and build capacity to fight the Taliban then sorry lah.

Whatever the US military left behind for the Afghans they will sell to the Taliban, for a quick profit, then they will desert and seek asylum in Australia.

In the coming months we will see the Afghans surrendering en masse to the Taliban, or running away like they did recently, to neighboring Tajikistan, after selling their equipment to the Taliban. Such soldiers can never be trained, not even in 20 years.

More than 1,000 Afghan soldiers have fled to neighbouring Tajikistan after clashing with Taliban militants, officials have said.

The troops retreated over the border to "save their own lives", according to a statement by Tajikistan's border guard.

Uyghurs are terrified of being forcibly returned to China.

Knowing Malaysia's kow-towing to DaGe, I fully expect that to happen.

  6. Some commentators are so stupid not to know that The Talibans are not morons or school dropouts. Many are engineers, scientists, technicians etc. How else can they drove away the Russians with perfect and radio-controlled missiles and bombs before the stupid and careless Americans and the West moved in to pillage the riches of Afghanistan especially their poppy plantations. And don't forget the Talibans have many friends like China and Turkey that can turn the US armory into a deadly weapons for the new Afghan government under the Talibans.

The Talibans 'defeated' the Russia via US helps then they 'defeated' the Yankee bcos of Russian helps!

China has zilch role in Afghanistan internal conflicts. As long as those runaway radicalised Uyghurs from acrossed Xinjiang got zilch supports, of all kinds, from the Talibans, the Chinese would let the Afghans fight themselves out.
