Malaysiakini:
Higher education minister's Tiktok competition causes a stir
CORONAVIRUS | Higher Education Minister Noraini Ahmad caused a stir after promoting a TikTok competition yesterday, which appeared to be an effort to get youths out of a funk during the movement control order period.
TikTok is a social media application used to send short videos, typically between 15 to 60 seconds. It is especially popular with youths.
In a promotional video for the contest, Noraini urged youths to stay at home and use their creativity to win prizes.
The promotional video featured two social media personalities, Norreen Iman and Iskandar Rahman, dancing to a remixed track that used portions of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's stay at home speech.
The contest was to be held from yesterday until April 14 and is open to youths aged 18 to 26.
However, there was a strong backlash against the competition, following which social media posts promoting it were removed today.
Lawyer Firdaus Husni tweeted that Noraini could have used social media to address concerns held by students throughout the MCO such as what will happen to the rest of the academic year, paying student fees, e-learning and exams.
"But no, you have to do a TikTok (competition)," she tweeted.

It's LAM (Laugh A Minute) folks.....
ReplyDeleteMenteri TikTok continues the Comedy Show, started off by Perdana Menteri Masuk Pintu Belakang, then Menteri Duduk Rumah, Menteri Hazmat, Menteri Air Suam, Menteri Doraemon, Menteri Pak Unta, Menteri Bizarre, Menteri Jaga Kereta, Menteri Cap Buruh....etc
Menteri TikTok should be figuring out how to deal with the thousands of tertiary students nationwide whose Semester 2 (10th February - 14 June) will be wiped out due to MCO1, MCO2 and the impending MCO3, 4 etc. Maybe she planned to give a blanket pass to everyone who participates in her dance competition.
Thousands of government sponsored students overseas...their studies disrupted.....fees already paid.....can get refund....?
What about the PTPTN fees paid for Semester 2? Will the tertiary institutions refund the money or will the billions be written off? The PTPTN debt was 40-50B during Jibby's time...ballooning even bigger now...
Is Menteri TikTok responsible for TARUC? Or is it under the Jellyfish party MCA?
Will Menteri TikTok agree to the new FM granting matching grant to TARUC students, when other public or private tertiary institutions don't enjoy this? Has Wee KHAT Siong spoken to her and the new FM yet? Already SEVEN WEEKS have passed and still no poop or peep from him over this issue, or with the MOE over UEC or KHAT or crowded vernacular schools.....still hiding in the toilet playing Sudoku...
And furthermore the big ball Deputy President of MCA Dr Mah Hang Soon is now Deputy Education Minister...taking over from Teo Nie Ching, sob sob we miss her...where is he?
Thousands of Malaysian students study in Singapore....NUS, NTU, colleges, secondary, primary schools, mostly Chinese......their future now is in doubt....Jellyfish Party MCA, what can you do...?
Jellyfish Ministers:
Wee KHAT Siong MCA (Kepala Jellyfish)
Saravanan Murugan MIC
Maximus Ongkili PBS
Ronald Kiandee Bersatu
Alexander Nanta Linggi PBB/GPS
Jellyfish Deputy Ministers:
Lim Ban Hong MCA
Mah Hang Soon MCA
Arthur Joseph Kurup PBRS
Wee Jerk Seng MCA
Teo Nie Ching was utterly useless - quiet as a mouse under Bapak Kasut Hitam wheareas before GE14 she was raving like a mad ferocious tigress who wanted to eat the BN people up
DeleteWhen Bapak Kasut Hitam resigned, she even lamented Maszlee's departurem - what a balls-carrying traitor just like Lim KHAT Siang - PODAH
No fair.....Menteri Jellyfish Wee KHAT Siong was a raving loud and proud peacock whacking Guanee over the TARUC funding.....collecting donations from poor hawkers, but now MCA is Deputy Minister no poop or peep?
Deletethats the problem with backdoor, pakai apa saja yg tak bolih pakai.
